1996-08-13 Minutes of Meeting Auqust 13, 1996
Members present: Vice-Chrm. J. Dettorre, Sec. M. Coughlin, T.
Dettorre, S. Fiorini, J. Qualantona, T. Saunders, Dir. J. Levesque.
Absent: R. Marshall.
At 6:--p.m. interviews were conducted with Virginia Campbell, Nancy
MacDonald, Linda Smith, Diane Forsstrom, and Marjorie O'Brien for
the position of Receptionist/Dispatcher.
After the interviews, it was decided to vote for a candidate for
this position.
The meeting was called to order at 8:43p.m. by J. Dettorre fil]ing
in for R. Marshall.
Marjorie O'Brien was voted to fill the position of
Receptionist/Dispatcher by M. Coughlin, T. Dettorre, J. Qua]antona,
and T. Saunders with S. Fiorini voting against.
Vice Chrm. J. Dettorre read a letter from Tom Scu]ly stating that
"The Council on Aging shall not conduct interviews or hire anyone
for the position of Outreach until such time as I, Jan Levesque and
the Council have met to discuss hiring procedure." M. Coughlin
moved to consult with the City Solicitor seconded by T. Saunders.
During a lengthy discussion it was decided the J. Dettorre invite
Mr. Scu]]y to a conference with the council at a mutually
convenient time hopefully, either August 26th or 27th.
T. Saunders withdrew his second_ and M. Coughlin withdrew the
original motion.
M. Coughlin moved to adjourn seconded by J. Qua]antona.
Meeting adjourned at 9:51p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 9, 1996 at
3:00p.m., at the Beverly Council on Aging, 90 Colon Street,
Beverly, MA 01915
