Board of Director's Meeting

Meeting called to order 2:40 pm
Secretary's Report: Minutes were accepted as written except for one omission; the fact that the
Scholarship Committee has a new name that was voted on and approved by the board at the last
meeting. Shall now be called the Grant Committee.
Director's Report
Building Concerns and Usage
Chip is looking for estimates to replace all the faucets in restroom sinks. Looks like most are
wearing out the plan is also to redo the front foyer. Checking on new industrial carpet and paint
colors.
September 10 at 7pm the Planning Board will host a meeting here.
We are checking on coverage and cost on a recent request from the City Democratic Comm. for
space for an event for an evening in November.
Administration and Finance
YTD Budget reviewed.
The Annual report to mayor was submitted on August 9 1h a copy was distributed and discussed.
The Yearend balance for the Formula Grant was submitted to the state.
Programs and Event
Discussion on Senior Day in the Park Wrap up.
September 12 First Responders Appreciation Event.
Community Garden Harvest: Still harvesting but will soon be preparing beds for winter.
September is Senior Center Month - Senior Centers: The Key to Aging Well.
Book discussion; "Women Rowing North ", on September 17 at 2pm.
Lauren spoke to the Board reviewing the Breakfast Club planning that is underway and the new
contact at BHS.
Meetings /Activities Clients /Clients /Clients of Concern
Mary Ann gave an update on the Farmers Market coupons so far 119 have been distributed.
Senior Care Annual Meeting at Cruise port, Gloucester on Thursday Sept. 26 $85.00 pp.
COA Appreciation program at Sr. Care in Beverly was postponed date TBA in October.
MCOA Conference on October 2 -4 in Danvers; some staff will be in attendance. Looking for
volunteers to help out with this event.
Personnel Updates
Interviews for Activities Coordinator — interviews are one going.
Interviews for Transportation Coordinator - interviewed 3 people -lots of resumes but most do not
have the CDL license. This is a needed requirement for the position.
MSW Social Worker- starts on September 5th
SSU interns start the week of September 9th
Merrimack Fellow began at the end of August.
