COUNCIL ON AGING
Minutes May 7, 1996
Members Present: Chrm. J. Dettorre, Vice Chrm. R. Marshall,
Sec. M. Coughlin, S.Fiorini, J. Jason, J. Qualantona.
Absent: J. Sullivan.
Meeting came to order at 3:06 p.m.
R. Marshall moved to accept secretary's report of April 2,
1996 seconded by J. Qualantona. So voted.
S. Fiorini moved to accept secretary's report of April 11,
1996 seconded by Jenny Jason. So voted.
Board members reviewed the financial report. M. Coughlin
moved to accept said report and R. Marshall seconded the
motion. So voted.
Chrm. Dettorre talked with Embree and White who admitted the
bill in question was too high. In fact, the overcharge was
$1,500.00 over. The bill was resolved satisfactorily. M.
Coughlin expressed a hope that business with them would be
severed.
Members listed their wish list as follows for consideration
by the Friends of the Council:
soda machine to make own money
landscaper
electric typewriter
artificial plants
arts and crafts supplies.
Chrm. Dettorre express a concern regarding the Tuesday Line
Dancing stating it was a losing proposition. The building
committee will look into this matter.
A letter of resignation was received from S. Fiorini as
librarian. Her resignation was received with regrets and
thanks expressed for her tireless work on behalf of the
Council and Seniors.
M. Coughlin questioned whether any further action had been
taken regarding the C.P.R. course. She volunteered to
follow up on the progress with Chief Pelonzi.
A letter was read from Councilor Troubetaris inviting the
CoUncil members to march in the July 4th parade in Ryal
Side.
The next meeting will be May 21, 1996 at 3:00P.M., 90 Colon
St., Beverly, Ma at the Senior Center.
M. Coughlin moved to adjourn seconded by J. Qualantona. So
voted.
Meeting adjourned at 4:31 P.M.
