Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order 2:40 pm
Secretary's Report: May Minutes were accepted with one correction; the meeting began at 12:30
pm rather than the 2:30 time that had been reported.
Director's Report
Building Concerns and Usage
Master Plan kick off meeting to be held on May 14 6:30 to 8 pm in the main hall.
The Memorial Benches have been installed.
The caret and flooring have been scheduled.
The sprinkler for the terrace in the back of the center is in need of repair.
Shredding Day June 2nd was sponsored by AARP. Was such a success we had to turn 25 cars
away and closed at 11:15am. Next time.... a larger truck will be required.
Administration and Finance
Last month of the Budget year. YTD Budget reviewed.
Program and Events
Successful Older American Month
Singing Trooper -very entertaining
Bocce match City Hall vs BCOA Team. The best team won.
City Hall is looking to schedule a re- match.
Bocce T shirts are in for the team.
Programs and Events Continued
We will be hosting a Girl Scouts Tea on June 13 Pizza will be served.
A workshop on Hat Making was held in advance of the "Tea."
Elder Abuse Awareness information will be distributed at City Hall from 10:00am to noon, on
June 14 th .
Lunch and Learn, Building Bridges LGBT aging project and discussion on cultural messages that
have impacted older adults' beliefs and attitudes. Sign up in advance held in Rec Room a
June 19th 10:00 -11:30 am
Bootstraps Mobile Food Market will take place outdoors on the patio, Thursdays June 6 & 20
10:30 to noon.
Meetings /Activities
Several interesting reports on Clients of concern were shared.
Age and Dementia Friendly World Health Organization Conference to be held on June 26 th .
Senior Day in the Park organizational meeting May 16
Formula Grant Training in Stoneham at the COA
Orientation for Merrimack Fellow -Sam will attend.
Committee Reports
Scholarship Committee Met before the Board Meeting seven scholarships were approved.
Discussion on name change of the Scholarship Committee to the Grant committee.
Awards Committee Nomination deadline is June 14 for Senior of the Year. The Board will
meet on June 25 to select from the nominations the Senior of the Year.
New Business
Vote on the Slate of Board Officers.

Discussion on a change to pricing on raffle tickets. 1 -$1.00 6- $5.00 Starts on July 1s
Senior Clerk position was approved to go full time in FY '20. The incumbent, Lynne DePiero
will remain in the job.
Personnel Updates
Megan Riche our new Outreach Coordinator started May 23rd
Leanna Johnson - Summer Activities Assistant started May 28th
Transportation Coordinator position still vacant. So far two people have been interviewed
looking for a CDL licensed candidate.
