2004-04-12BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 2004 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Duval, Lydon, Simpson, Trask, and White ABSENT: Commissioners Mahoney, Nelson, and Tognazzi PUBLIC: Rich Little, Ken Robinson, Rich Mello, Jay Wessell, Bob Cronin, Wil Gourdeau, Angier Ames, Dave Graham, and D. Pais A. CALL TO ORDER Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 1. Presentations: · Meredith & Grew – Bob Cronin presented his proposal for marketing the airport’s non-aviation use parcels. · Edwards and Kelcey Update – Dave Graham updated the commission regarding concerns with M.A.C.’s budget and possible ripple effects to BVY projects. 2. Reading of the Minutes for March 2004 – Chairman White called for a reading of the minutes from the March meeting. Vice Chairman Barnico made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Simpson. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White presented the financial report for March 2004. Commissioner Trask made a motion to accept the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Vice Chairman Barnico. Motion passed unanimously. B. OLD BUSINESS FY05 Budget – Chairman White presented budget adjustments from previously approved FY05 budget. Subcommittee Reports: · Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Vice Chairman Barnico updated the commission on a Runway 34 Beverly ConCom meeting, the cell tower Board of Appeals date change, the Gurnard site, and the Aviators of New England proposed lease. · Public Relations Subcommittee – No report 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 2004 NEW BUSINESS C. · PAPI’s for Beverly Municipal Airport – The commission discussed the possibility of NetJet installing PAPI’s at the approach ends of Runways 9, 27, and 34. Vice Chairman Barnico made a motion to pursue NetJet’s offer with FAA. Motion seconded by Commissioner Simpson. Motion passed unanimously. · Aviation Day – Commissioner Trask said its too late for a 2004 Aviation Day, that if the Commission wanted a summer/fall 2005 Aviation Day, it should start organizing it now. D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT · Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the Commission on the traffic count, the T. Ford lease, snow removal, lease status of ANE, maintenance activities, airport inspections, cell tower lease, West Side security fencing and Runway 9/27 crack repair project, airport security, FAA Airports Conference, VIP visit, needed MALS repair, and the need to begin airport consultant selection/reselection. E. CHAIRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS · Commissioner Trask informed the commission of the initial concerns of the cell tower notice to Danvers abutters. · Chairman White appointed Vice Chairman Barnico, Commissioner Duval, and himself as the Beverly Airport Consultant Selection Committee. F. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Trask, seconded by Commissioner Simpson. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:30PM.
