Minutes of March 12, 1996
Members Present: Chrm. J.Dettorre, Vice Chrm. R. Marshall,
Sec. M. Coughlin, S. Fiorini, J. Qualantona, and K.
Fitzgibbons. Absent: J. Jason, J. Sullivan.
Meeting came to order at 3:14p.m.
J. Qualantona moved to accept the secretary's report,
seconded by R. Marshall. So voted.
Director Fitzgibbons read her report. She has been in
contact with Senior Care concerning returning the Nutrition
program to Senior Care. Our meeting was in session the same
day a decision was to be made by the Mayor, the Executive
Director, and their Nutrition Director concerning returning
this position to Senior Care.
With regards to subscriptions that have been in effect for
a long time, R. Marshall motioned to cancel all
subscriptions which was seconded by J. Qualantona. So
voted.
M. Coughlin requested the Director to check the status of
the newspaper Beverly Citizen as in some cases the paper is
being given without a fee. The Director said she would
check into item,
A brief discussion ensued regarding the use of the Center
for educational or informational benefit of the general
population. R. Marshall and M. Coughlin of the Building Use
Committee will meet in the future to present guidelineslto
the Council members for use of the Hall. At that time
members will decide what is best for all concerned.
J. Qualantona motioned to renta bus for $125.00 for a day
trip, seconded by M. Coughlin. So voted.
A motioned was made by M. Coughlin, seconded by J,
Qualantona to table a decision on the Nutrition Director
until hearing the results the Mayor and Senior Care
officials arrived at.
-A discussion ensued regarding the Administration Policy
being worked on by Chr. Dettorre.
For Article 2- Hours of Operation and Benefits, M. Coughlin
motioned to table this article until Don Young could be
available for his expertise and input. As there was no
second, the motion died.
Members were to take home the material on this paper to read
for the next meeting.
The next meeting will be held April 2, 1996 at 3:00 P.M., 90
Colon St., Beverly, Ma at the Senior Center.
