4-11-2019 meeting minutes- �n'k . 1, R Board: Board of Health Subcommittee: City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Date: April 11, 2019 Place: Beverly Council on Aging, Arts & Crafts Room Board members present: Frank S. Carbone Jr. MD, William J. Alpine Jr. and Susan Higgins Board Members Absent: Others present: William Burke, Director of Public Health Recorder: Kathleen McCullough Chairman Carbone called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. The minutes of the March 14, 2019 meeting were approved and accepted as mailed. Ana Sirianni of 131 Livingstone Ave. had applied for a Keeping of Animals permit. She would like to keep six chickens on her property for the purpose of eggs. She will compost the waste at the Standley St. waste site. A neighbor on Upland Road attended the meeting but was not against the coop. Mr. Burke had emailed the Solicitor with additional edits for the "Adult Only Retail Tobacco Stores" regulations. He did not receive a reply as yet, but the Board would like to vote on the matter in May. Mr. Burke has sent Joyce Redford a list of the private clubs to visit for compliance of smoking regulations. The director of the Italian Community Center had spoken at the February 14 meeting asking the Board to consider banning smoking in private clubs. Mr. Burke had a few updates for the Board. The Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for April 20 at the Beverly High School. Hours are 8:00 to 12:00. There will be a new propane vendor this year. There will be another Medication Take Back Day on April 27 at the CVS plaza from10 to 2, and the Electronics Collection will be held at the Beverly High School on May 4. Teresa Kirsch held a regional Recreational Camp training at which 45 camp operators attended. Mr. Burke had a meeting with the mayor concerning the next year's budget. It is level funded again but allowing for one extra week for the Dental Clinic. Also Mr. Burke requested $300 more for office supplies. Ms. Higgins motioned to approve Keeping of Animals permit for 131 Livingstone Ave. pending approval from Officer Lipinski. Mr. Alpine seconds the vote. The next scheduled meeting is May 23, 2019.
