August minutesBeverly Council on Aging Director's Meeting Date: August 7, 2018 Place: BCOA Members Present: Claire -Marie Hart, Bob Hobbs, Cynthia Montalbano, Jessica Wistran Esquire, Susan Feeney, Staff Present: MaryAnn Holak, Jessica Waggett, and Patti Rice Meeting called to order 2:40 pm Secretary's Report: Minutes were accepted as written from meetings on June 5th and June 26 Director's Report Building Concerns and Usage Met with Mike Collins to get an agreement to solicit bids for painting and to purchase new fixtures for windows. Purchase of two new benches for the back entrance. The Central Vac motor needs replacement. August 23r MCOA dementia Friendly training will be held. Discussion with Bryant Ayles, Public Finance Director, regarding public WIFI and Comcast. Seniors have registered complaints on lack of WIFI. September 13 t " the City Democratic Committee is renting space for a program on gun violence and school safety. Administration and Finance FY'18 YE Budget review, 99.7% of the budget was spent. Senior Care, Inc meeting will take place on August Stn FY Annual Report was submitted to Mayor Cahill on August 3 d . Jessica updated the report to the mayor. Discussion on Strategic Plan 2019 -2022. Newsletter redesign and a possible name change are being considered. Outreach to seniors 65 to 70 starting with a mailing list to beginning in September. Formula Grant back on the Governor's Desk amount is $12.00 per senior, this is a substantial increase - $2.30 per elder over last year. Program and Events Seniorcare, Inc. Annual Meeting at Danversport Yacht Club September 27 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Former City Councilor Bill Coughlin is receiving an award that evening. Patti Rice reported on Senior Day in the Park. The Board presented Patti with a gift certificate in appreciation of all her work, organizing this huge successful event. The end of June concludes our successful Mobile Food Market. New Programs -the Walking Club and Needy Meds. Wrap up meeting will take place on August 9 th for Senior Day in the Park. Photo Voice is showing on display - at the City Hall. Farmers Market coupons are available to seniors that qualify for the program. Meetings /Activities /Clients Jessica will attend the Orientation for Merrimack Community Engagement Program on August 10 We look forward to our new Fellow Meghan, starting at the Center on August 20th. Clients of Concern and the Task Force Meeting to take place on August 3 d Coffee Hour with Chief LaLecheur to take place on August 22n Grand Parent Support Group to begin under the supervision of Blair Smith.
