2004-08-09BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 2004 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Duval, Lydon, Mahoney, Simpson, Trask, and White ABSENT: Commissioners Nelson and Tognazzi PUBLIC: Ryan Keogh, Clarke Labbe, Rich Mello, Ken Robinson, Jay Wessell, Steve Castleman, Rich Little, Dave Pais, Chris Randall A. CALL TO ORDER Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 1. Presentations: · Collings Foundation – Ryan Keogh made a presentation requesting the Collings Foundation’s WWII bomber display be allowed to appear at Beverly Municipal Airport. Motion by Commissioner Duval to approve the operation in concept and delegate to the airport manager authority for final approval subject to satisfying him on liability concerns, security concerns, and complete cost recovery. Seconded by Commissioner Lydon. YEAS – 6, NAYS – 1 2. Reading of the Minutes for July 2004 – Chairman White called for a reading of the minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner Mahoney made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Trask. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White reported there was no financial report, as the city has not yet closed its books for FY04. B. OLD BUSINESS Subcommittee Reports: · Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Commissioner Mahoney and the airport manager updated the commission on the status of the Tom Ford, cell tower, and ANE proposed leases. · Public Relations Subcommittee – Commissioner Simpson updated the commission on the status of RW 34 tree removal and the need for a glide slope at BVY. 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 2004 · Facility Maintenance Subcommittee – Commissioner Lydon reported on the June 24, 2004 facilities’ inspections. C. NEW BUSINESS · Mr. David Farr of the aviation consulting firm of Dubois & King, Inc. introduced himself. No action taken. D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT · Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the commission on the traffic count, West Side Security Fence and Runway 9/27 Crack Fill Project, proposed BVY PAPI’s, status of proposed leases, airport security meeting, airport maintenance, airport inspections, updated industrial parcel values, and city purchasing procedures meeting.
