Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Bob Hobbs, Cynthia Montalbano, Claire -Marie Hart,

Staff Present: Mary Ann Holak, Jessica Waggett
Meeting Called to Order: Claire -Marie Co- Chairperson
Secretary's Report: Minutes were accepted with one correction: It has yet to be
determined whether Bob will need to take a medical leave of
absence.
Director's Report:
Building Concerns
We are still waiting for the heat pumps and heat units to be delivered.
We are currently, still waiting to hear from Public Services about the bench installation.
Weather issues caused no power on March 8" and building close on March 13 and a late
opening at noon on March 14
Beverly Arts District (BAD) held a focus group with senior participants on March 28
.
The mayor has scheduled a meeting on April 11 to discuss Trash and Recycling.
A police staff meeting will take place on April 12 in Rec. Room A.
Administration and Finance
Mary Ann discussed YTD Budget review. The Budget is currently on track. We are at
70% for March where we want the budget to be.
March 19 the City Council
FY' Budget proposal is due on April 11th
Programs and Events
Another successful Mobile Market was held.
4/4 Intergenerational Programs Workshop offered by our Community engagement
Fellow, Amy Gothing
Aging Mastery starting on April 5 th runs ten weeks and the funding is through Beverly
hospital.
April l 1 a Volunteer session will be held at 10 am. Discussion on Property Tax write
off will take place.
A trip- to Foxwoods will take place on April 19 registration payment at the desk
required.
April 24 a Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will take place.
April 26 In collaboration with Beverly Hospital - Honoring Choices Ambassador
Training Program will take place.
The AARP Tax Program has completed for the year.
Meetings /Activities /Clients
At Risk Task Force meeting was held.
Clients of Concern discussed.
Personnel Updates
Our Social Work intern will be leaving in April.
Beverly High School Intern will be joining us in April.
Committee Reports:
Scholarship
Committee did not meet this month.
Awards
Nomination forms for Senior of the Year will be inserted in May 2018 newsletter.
No changes were made to Policy Procedures and Nomination from last year.
Unfinished Business:
The UMASS consultant is working on final edits. She will present her findings on Tuesday,
May 8, at the Senior Center.
