Carbone Jr. MD, William J. Alpine Jr. and Susan Higgins Board Members Absent: Others present: William Burke, Director of Public Health, Teresa Kirsch, Public Health Nurse, Bruce Doig, Community Services Director Recorder: Kathleen McCullough Chairman Carbone called the meeting'to order at 7:30 a.m. The minutes of the November 21, 2017 meeting were approved and accepted as mailed. Mr. Burke met with Kevin Harutunian and solicitor Stephanie Williams on December 12' regarding proposed changes to the Board of Health Noise Regulations. Mr. Burke told them that the Board of Health was meeting the next day and he would propose using the DEP Regulations as the core of a revised regulation. They will work on identifng provisions of the existing regulations that have been useful regarding quality of life issues. The Dental Clinic has received the recredentialing it needs from MassHealth. The Board of Registration of Dentistry approved the issuance of the Public Health Dental Hygenist License for Judy Tanzella. This concludes this phase to procede with patients. The appoved re- credentialling will allow the clinic to bill for services rendered. Mr. Burke will reach out to the Mayor about moving the clinic to the High School. It is our understanding that this new Public Health Hygenist Model will be transferable to the future location. T D Family Market was sent a correspondance dated November 29, 2017 informing them that the order /suspension of their tobacco licence was sustained. Whereas the return receipt from the certified mail has not yet been received it will be sent regular mail and hand delivered where the suspension date is to begin December 18'. Mr. Burke had a few updates for the Board. Ms. Kirsch has been working on the North Shore Mother Visiting Partnership that will provide baby boxes for new mothers. Teresa Kirsch, Public Health Nurse, brought up the topic of "micro blading" which is a form of make -up tattooing. A few people have inquired about getting a permit through the Health Department to open a studio for this type of business, or doing it in a salon. Regulations prohibit this type of tattooing in salons and the Boston Health Commision is looking into "micro blading" The department is processing permit renewals for 2018. The tobacco application included a modified cover letter stating the new tobacco regulations.
