Meeting was called to order by Jerry Guilebbe.

The minutes from the November meeting were read. Jerry made a motion to accept the minutes as
read. Motion was seconded and passed.
Financial Report —
• David Perinchief reported that there was $13,000.00 in the council account and
$1,000.00 was given to a veteran to help get him out of the shelter. Jerry made a
motion to accept the financial report. Motion was seconded and passed.
Old Business —
• Memorial Day flags —
o St. Mary's Cemetery - St. Mary's school will take care of placing the flags and
Harborlight Montessori School will take them out in November.
• North Beverly Cemetery — Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and civic associations will
place flags.
o Jewish Cemetery — Paul Weinberg will take care of the flags.
o Beverly Farms — Beverly Farms will take care of the flags.
o Central Cemetery — ROTC will take care of the flags.
0 3250 flags were ordered last year.
• Veterans Day —
o David Perinchief made a motion to use $1500.00 from donation money to utilize
the funds to re -pay the Spear Post for expenses incurred for Veterans Day
events. Motion was seconded and passed.
New Business —
• Discussed having a Welcome Home dinner at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club for
veterans that have come home in last calendar year. Discussed having the Mayor, Fire
Chief, and Police Chief attend. Discussed having Girl Scouts provide childcare at the
dinner so that childcare would not be an issue for attendees. David Perinchief will call
the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club to find out how much it will cost to hold the event.
• Discussed getting the admins for each post together to coordinate calendars and create
a public calendar.
• Ron Genest has contracted the Salem Trolley for Memorial Day and Bob Laws is going to
ask the Beverly Elks how to get the trolley donated.
• Discussed supporting Lt. Col. Judge becoming a member of the council.
• David Perinchief discussed the Homebased Program wanting to bring its program to
Danvers MGH. If there are any services that should be added for veterans let him know.
• Bob Driscoll should be contact regarding the horse for Memorial Day.
• Discussed getting involved with National Boy Scout Day and Girl Scouts Day.
• Ron Genest suggested getting the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts together to do a formal
flag retirement ceremony in the Spring. Susan Moran will contact Boy Scouts.
• Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony needs to be added to the calendar.
• Discussed having a fly over for Pearl Harbor Day. David Perinchief will talk to the Collings
Foundation.
• Discussed getting a Coast Guard cutter for American Legion Day.
• The Holiday Parade organizers would like the veterans to be involved.
• Discussed putting on another Benefits Fair. David Perinchief will talk to David Hinkey.
Good of the Order —
• Buddy Rehal discussed having the plaque, that was dedicated to Joe Vittori, put back
outside the auditorium at the new middle school. Buddy will write a letter to the school
board in care of the superintendent to have the plaque put back. David Perinchief will
call the superintendent.
• Vittori Rocci post has coffee and pastries Saturdays from 8:30- 10:30am and VA reps will
be available.
Jerry Guilebbe made a motion to adjourn. Motion was carried.
The next meeting will be February 22, 2018, 5pm @ City Hall.
