Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Margaret Altman, Mary Behrle, Marshall Handly, Ivy Mahan, Kevin O'Reilly and Joanne Panunzio, Myron Schirer -Suter Board members absent: Anthony Kline, Neil Olson Others present: Anna Langstaff, Bruce Doig Recorder: Anna Langstaff Kevin O'Reilly presided. Marshall Handly made the motion, seconded by Joanne Panunzio, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of December 19, 2016 as read. Motion passed. Public Presentation None Committee Reports Personnel: Kevin O'Reilly reported on his meeting with the Mayor. The first applicant interview for library director will take place Thursday, February 16 at LOAM. Library staff will be asked for input of any questions to ask the applicant. Administration: No report. Finance: No report. Long Range Planning: Mary Behrle reported that the long range plan is coming due. Report of the Library Director 1) Public Records Law: Anna Langstaff reviewed the memo from the Mayor regarding the amended public records law. 2) Art Work: Colleene Fesko is appraising library art work. 3) Personnel: A new head of reference, Lisa Ryan, has been hired. 4) Self- Checkout: Self- checkout is now live. 5) Teen Room Renovation and Expansion: Patricia Cirone met with the architect in December. Waiting for final plans and artist's rendering. The staff has started working on fundraising ideas for the teen expansion and will be looking for help with the fall mini -golf fundraiser. 6) Building Issues: Waiting for estimate to replace heating pump. No word on capstone repair. No word on Sohier Room AC. Exterminator has found no new evidence of mice. 7) Bookmobile: Bookmobile has been in for repairs several times because of problems with the generator. 8) Trustee Terms: Joanne Panunzio and Neil Olson's terms expire at the end of January 2017. 9) Reception for Patricia Cirone: There will be a public reception for Patricia Cirone in March. The City Council will present a resolution in her honor at one of their meetings in March. 10) Programs: Monday Mornings series starts up January 30; Bad Art February 16; Deep Freeze Pop -up Books Sale February 11; YA Pizza and a Movie February 15. Communications None Unfinished Business None New Rnsiness 1) Long Range Preservation Plan: Library trustees reviewed the Long Range Preservation Plan. Marshall Handly made the motion, seconded by Kevin O'Reilly, to: accept the Long Range Preservation Plan as presented. Motion passed. The next meeting of the board will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 6:30PM at the Main Library. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40PM.
