Meeting for Council members called to order at 6:45pm in the Sohier Room of
the Beverly Public Library by Andrew Houle.
Tonite will be Barbara Broudo's last meeting as her term is complete after this
year.
Discussion of possible candidates for the Beverly Cultural Council — each
member was asked to come prepared with 1 -3 names to share with the group.
All candidates sounded good, asked to have resumes sent to us for review and
we will narrow it down to the best candidates based on strength as a Cultural
Council member and also keeping the various "cultural" types diversified and
balanced.
Vote and accepted minutes form 11/8 and 11/15 minutes.
Financial disclosure from treasurer Colleen Michaels.
Discussed outstanding reimbursement requests from current 2017 year.
We have a total of $42,725. in grant requests from 34 grant applications for 2018.
Mass. Cultural Council has allotted us $12,200. for 2018, plus rollover monies
form last year's balance giving us a total grant budget of $14,089.96 for 2018
cycle.
Discussions of grant allocations for 2018 based on grant scores. Each Council
member scored grants based on worksheet from MCC on a scale of 1 -5 in 4
specific categories; Quality /Originality /Creativity, Community Benefit, Planning,
Budget, for total possible score of 20 points. We started with the applicants with
the total highest score and worked down from there. Discussion of the validity of
each application and if it fulfills the MCC's requirements for local grants, and
benefit for community. Discussion of how much we should allot each applicant.
