The Committee held a special meeting on July 13, 2017 to conduct a site visit of the undeveloped
areas at Trask Lane / Folly Hill. The Chair received permission from the property owner to
conduct the visit. A synopsis of the site visit is below.
The Committee walked the trail to the south of County Way extension which is on Beverly
property first to give the whole space context. We then walked on four trails on the Folly Hill
Property up to the fire tower and back. David Gardner felt it was important to go on record that
the OSRC should recommend a green pedestrian connection that connects future and current
housing blocks within the development. He also advocated for a new playing field in the vicinity.
The general consensus was there are attractive trails worth preserving, but the attractiveness
would be impacted by layout of the new development and required parking, which is unknown.
It is a large open space with lots of potential, and input from OSRC will be important when there
is a developer and a plan.
