2004-05-10BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MAY 10, 2004 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Lydon, Mahoney, Nelson, Tognazzi, Trask, and White ABSENT: Commissioners Duval and Simpson PUBLIC: Angier Ames, Dave Graham, Rich Little, Ken Robinson, Rich Mello, Tim Whitman, and Craig Schuster A. CALL TO ORDER Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 1. Presentations: · Edwards and Kelcey Update – Dave Graham updated the commission on the proposed PAPI installations at BVY. Craig Schuster updated the commission on the West Side fencing project and RW 9-27 crack fill project. 2. Reading of the Minutes for April 2004 – Chairman White called for a reading of the minutes from the April meeting. Commissioner Trask made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Barnico. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White presented the financial report for April 2004. Vice Chairman Barnico made a motion to accept the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Commissioner Trask. Motion passed unanimously. B. OLD BUSINESS BVY PAPI’s – No report. Previously covered in the Edwards & Kelcey update. Subcommittee Reports: · Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Vice Chairman Barnico and Chairman White updated the commission on the Aviators of New England/High Flight sublease, the T. Ford lease, and the cell tower lease. Vice Chairman Barnico informed the commission about the recent placement by the state of Beverly Municipal Airport directional signs. · Public Relations Subcommittee – No report 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MAY 10, 2004 C. NEW BUSINESS None D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT · Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the Commission on the traffic count, lease status, CIP projects, FAA Airport Conference, VIP visit, proposed airfield farming activity, MAC budget, handicapped parking spaces, potential relocated localizer impact, High Flight annual CPI rent increase, airport maintenance activities, and airport inspections. CHAIRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS E. · Commissioner Nelson inquired if the proposed farming operation would be under a lease and have adequate insurance. (Yes) · Chairman White informed the commission of an upcoming meeting with FAA, Tina Cassidy, and John Dunn regarding the release of airport non- aviation use parcels. · Chairman White suggested a public relations brochure and Commissioner Trask suggested a cable TV tape be done that provides pertinent airport information about BVY. · Chairman White informed the commission on a recent Beverly ConCom site inspection of RW 34. · Chairman White, in response to a request for self-service fueling by Aviators of New England, deferred the matter to the Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee.
