MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 22, 2017

PRESENT: Commissioners Faulstich, Forgione, Gentile, Lund, Mahoney, Nelson, and Trefry
ABSENT: Commissioners Brean and Dawe
PUBLIC: Ace Chase of Cat Aviation, John Messenger from NAA, Tariq Fasheh from North Shore
Aero Club
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Mahoney called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. All parties' discussion involving the displaced landing threshold for Runway 16. It was a
general concurrence that steps should be performed to remove this restriction as many
aircraft require 5,000 feet for landing and take -off.
3. There has been interest in the airport for corporate flight departments. They require 5,000
feet of usable runway for takeoff and landing and a B Fire Classification for the Airport.
Bob Snuck will try to obtain equipment from GSAXcess for the B Classification and work
at getting the displaced threshold for Runway 16 removed.
4. The restaurant RFP will be opened at the end of the month. There is a worry that there may
not be interested parties.
5. Bill Mahoney would like a meeting arranged with the pertinent individuals for the Wyler
Hangar. Bob Snuck will arrange the meeting.
B. NEW BUSINESS:
• A change in the date of implementation of the Airport Landing Fees were discussed to change the
implementation date from July 1, 2017 to June 1, 2017 in order to capture the expected increase
from the PGA Event. John Messenger also advised that was the date his new fees would go into
effect. Vice Chairman Faulstich made the motion to change the start date of the new landing fees to
June 1, 2017. Seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed with all in favor.
C. TENANT COMMENTS:
• John Messenger (NAA) — It looks like the Seagull problem has been solved. No feed was observed
at the residence and no seagulls have been present.

• Ace Chase — Has had to chase seagulls off the runway a few times for aircraft to depart. They are
still after the Wiley Coy Dog that is not afraid of aircraft but flees when he sees Ace's truck.
• Tariq Fasheh — No Comments

with all in favor.
