Kevin O'Reilly presided.
Marshall Handly made the motion, seconded by Mary Behrle, to accept the minutes of the
regular meeting of November 29, 2016 as read. Motion passed.
Public Presentation

Committee Reports
Personnel: Joanne Panunzio reported that the personnel committee, Anna Langstaff and Bruce
Doig met December 15, 2016 to discuss the steps that need to be taken to hire a new library
director. After some discussion the trustees agreed that the following people would serve on the
search committee: Joanne Panunzio, chair, Myron Schirer- Suter, Mary Behrle, Kevin O'Reilly,
and Anna Langstaff. Kevin O'Reilly and Mary Behrle will meet with the Mayor December 22,
2016 to discuss salary and start date. Job will be posted as soon as possible, with a closing date
of January 18, 2017. Search committee will meet January 19, 2017.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: No report.
Report of the Library Director
1) YA Expansion: Patricia Cirone will be meeting with the architect on December 21, 2016 to go
over the preliminary expansion plans. 2) Christmas Holidays: The library will be closed Monday,
December 26 and Monday, January 2. The library will also be closed Saturday, December 24 and
all full -time employees will get a floating holiday for December 24. 3) Community Preservation
Assessment Grant: Patricia Cirone is working on the long range preservation plan. The
participants will be presenting their plans and ideas to the city council.

The next meeting of the board will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Main Library.
