Kevin O'Reilly presided.
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Margaret Altman, to accept the minutes of the regular
meeting of April 26, 2016 as read. Motion passed.
Public Presentation

Committee Reports
Personnel: Joanne Panunzio reported that she is waiting for two library director evaluation forms
and will present results at the next meeting.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: No report.
Report of the Library Director
1) FY2016 Budget: Patricia Cirone reviewed FY2016 budget. 2) FY2017 Budget: Patricia
Cirone reviewed the Mayor's proposed FY2017 library budget, with cuts in repairs ($10,000),
electricity ($22,000) and books and materials ($9,000), but still an increase over FY2016 budget.
A part-time position for home delivery is not included in this budget, but Bryant Ayles thinks he
can work this out. Patricia Cirone will present the proposed budget to the City Council on June
2. 3) Winter Street Doors: Patricia Cirone has not heard back from Mike Collins regarding
Winter Street door replacement. Patricia Cirone has received a recommendation from Brett
Thibault for a company that could fix or replace the doors. 4) Water Quality: Water has been
flushed several times but the water is still brown. Patricia Cirone is waiting for replacement of
water heater and pipes to be approved by Mike Collins. 5) Sohier Room AC: Patricia Cirone is
waiting to get an estimate from Mike Collins to replace the unit on the roof. 6) Electricity:
Patricia Cirone is still trying to get more electrical outlets in the old part of the building on the
third floor. 7) Building Repair Issues: Patricia Cirone is drafting a detailed list of repairs to
submit to Bryant Ayles, Mike Collins and library trustees. After a discussion of needed building
repairs, library trustees expressed their concern about delayed repairs and also expressed their
support of Patricia Cirone's attempts to get the repairs done expeditiously. 8) Community
Preservation Assessment Grant: Patricia Cirone has not received the assessment report yet. 9)
Long Range Planning: Current long range plan goes through 2018 but will need to start working
on it this fall. 10) Bookmobile: Bookmobile job has been posted. 11) Security: Patricia Cirone
and Anna Langstaff have been discussing library security with Pauline Teixeira, Eitan Goldberg,
and Nickey Mullen. Patricia Cirone and Anna Langstaff met with the union to discuss security
concerns. Patricia Cirone has requested a meeting with the Mayor to fund security personnel. 12)
Shifting: Shifting continues on the third floor. 13) Chromebooks: The library purchased
Chromebooks to circulate within the library. 14) Upcoming Programs and Events: Reception for
Linda Caravaggio, Jazz Concert, Summer Sounds, Summer Reading Kick -off Party, 3D Printer
Class, Farms Lawn Party 15) Trustee Vacancy: Patricia Cirone has received no word on trustee
vacancy. Kevin O'Reilly has been in touch with the Mayor's secretary regarding the trustee
vacancy.

New Rnsiness
1) Employment Contracts: Patricia Cirone and Anna Langstaff reviewed proposed employment
contracts, with the only changes being the effective dates, current salary and term of contract
from one year to two years. Mary Behrle made the motion, seconded by Margaret Altman, to:
accept proposed employment contracts for Patricia Cirone and Anna Langstaff.
Motion passed.
The next meeting of the board will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 6:30 PM at the Beverly Farms
Branch Library.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45PM.
