Date: July 12, 2016

Members Present: Chair William Lowd, Gary Lambert, Chad Crandell,

Mr. Lowd called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Members review June 14, 2016 minutes. Mr. Lawler motions to approve the minutes as written.
Mr. Lambert seconds. All in favor, motion passes (4 -0).
Financial update
No 2016 close out data available ..............Mr. Lawler
Mr. Dever will look into getting a proposal / estimate to replace the boiler.
Mr. Carter
Mr. Carter distributes his rounds and revenue reports. Rounds report for month of June total of
almost 6000. It was a good month for greens fees at $114,125. The pro shop took in about $12K
for June and the 9 revenue was over $24K for June. Functions were also around $24K and
Tennis brought in around $18K for June. Overall the course is in great shape. League play has
been solid. The two for one Tuesday promotion continuing on a month by month trial basis.
Coupons are given out at outings to attract more players during the quiet times.
Ryan Anderson from the Pro -Shop, will be competing in the BIG I tournament in CA in August.
Commission will request a quote to paint the exterior of the Pro -Shop.
Mr. Dever
Mr. Dever will look into generating a proposal to replace / enhance the heating system
Mr.LaPierre
Expecting between 300 — 400 players during the next 3 -5 weeks playing in tournaments.
Mr. LaPierre repainted the inside of the tennis shop and repainted the exterior of the shed
Commission will request a quote to paint the exterior of the tennis shop.
Mr. Murphy
Continuing work on a couple of drains and on smaller projects. Using a lot of water since
the weather has been so hot, course is still in good shape.
Mr. Page
The new menu specials are still going well, especially the pizza. Mentioned how the temporary
stairs into the Pub during porch reconstruction is working out very well.
July has two weddings coming in as well as golf outings.
Project updates:
Porch collapse
The contractor has started the porch work. Work should begin on July 6t''. When it rains, water
runs into the locker room through a crack in the porch surface making the carpet wet, maybe
needs to have a sealant. Rubber flooring is going to be installed but hopefully the leak can be
fixed first. Mr. Dever will have someone look at why the water is coming in to the building.
Stucco will need to be re- touched up again and that is in the scope of work for the porch.
Round 3 of CPC
Project is to add a heating coil to the second floor A/C unit. Submitted to the CPC, just putting
out to bid and get specs costs. The specs came back at $16K. One of the CPC Members, Mr.
Matz sent an email to Ms. Maxner regarding possible grant programs to supplement the Golf and
Tennis Commission's application. Mr. Carter believes these grant programs are designed to get
more people to play golf, not for improvements in the Clubhouse. Mr. Lowd working with the
Beverly Grants Director for help in identifying possible grants.
Round 2 of CPC - continuation
Mr. Lowd attended the CPC meeting where the Committee reviewed the Golf and Tennis
Commission's out of cycle application. It was approved to move to the City Council for
approval. The contractor is planning to get started by August- September and will be finished by
Thanksgiving.
Mr. Lowd spoke with the Beverly Economic Development Planner regarding how the Golf and
Tennis Club markets itself. The planner will create a brochure to be used as a hand out. There is
presently a flyer GFMI has distributed to Chamber members. The Club is a member of the
Chamber of Commerce.

approved (4 -0).
