Henderson Road, Beverly, MA, 01915 PRESENT: Commissioners Brean, Dawe, Faulstich, Forgione, Gentile, Lund, Mahoney, Nelson, and Trefry ABSENT: None PUBLIC: Jim Baker, Tony Bettencourt, Paul Beaulieu, Ace Chase, Charlene Chase, Joe Gibbons, John Godfrey, Bill Kossowan, Bob Knight, Tom Lyons, Bob Mallard, Ken Robinson, and Wes Rosen A. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Mahoney called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 1. Pledge of Allegiance 2. Reading of the Minutes for July 2016 — Chairman Mahoney called for a reading of the minutes from the July 2016 meeting. Commissioner Dawe made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Faulstich. Motion passed unanimously. Reading of the Financial Report for July 2016 — Airport Manager Mezzetti presented the financial report for July 2016. Vice Chairman Faulstich made a motion to accept the financial report, subject to audit. Commissioner Brean seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. 4. Presentation(s) — • Airport Solutions Group (ASG) — Bob Mallard covered the items on the ASG monthly status report for July 2016 e. g. RW9 approach obstructions, Nguyen property, Osgood property, RW27 approach obstructions, RW27 approach obstructions, RW16/34 length publication date, and U. S. Customs office lease expiration date at Cummings Center. 5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Mahoney reported on: • RW9 tree obstruction update • Salem News tour of New Admin Building • Mayor's tour of New Admin Building • Slideshow information • Kevin Harutunian (Mayor's Chief of Staff) tour of New Admin Building • Upcoming BEVCAM interview and tour of New Admin Building • Occupancy Permit Status BEVERLY REGIONAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2016 B. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Subcommittee Reports • Property/Legal/Finance/Noise Abatement Subcommittee — Airport Manager Mezzetti provided an update on the Battistelli and Wyler leases. • Facility Maintenance — Vice Chairman Faulstich updated the commission on the progress of renovations at Building #45. • Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner Forgione reported that the New Admin Building Open House information was on the airport website and that the website received 1,867 hits in July. • Publicity/Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioner Nelson reported that she had tried to get Danvers Selectmen to attend an airport PowerPoint presentation but had no success yet. • Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report • Airport Layout Plan Subcommittee — No Report • Customs — Commissioner Trefry updated the commission on the latest efforts to have U. S. Customs based at the New Admin Building. • Special Projects Subcommittee — Commissioner Lund updated the commission on the renovation status of the Vietnam War Memorial Helicopter. Commissioner Dawe presented John Godfrey's solar panel credit proposal that would save 2 -3% off our current electric bill, which could go to 15 %. Motion by Commissioner Dawe to enter into an agreement to accept John Godfrey's offer of an electric offset with solar panels. Seconded by Commissioner Trefry. Motion passed unanimously. C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT: Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fees, Airport Day, C.I.P. TXY Edge Lights/PAPI /Airport Signs project, Ogden Aviation Dreams Foundation, Battistelli and Wyler lease status, gas line installation to Hangars # 11, # 12, and # 15, development interest off of Nike Road, and East Side parking lot vehicle access gate access. D. NEW BUSINESS: None E. TENANT COMMENTS: 2 BEVERLY REGIONAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2016 • Ken Robinson discussed a Salem Country Club golf tournament June 26 -July 2, his fueling pricing, and gave kudos to the tower for the handling of a recent aircraft accident. • Bill Kossowan updated the commission on pilot medicals and discussed the Oshkosh Fly -In and drones. • Wes Rosen talked about the recent aircraft accident and questioned why the police have to respond to the scene. • Tom Lyons discussed Aviation Day and said approximately 400 -500 people showed up. F. COMMISSION COMMENTS: Commissioner Gentile recommended there be an "After Action" meeting of Airport, Fire, Police, and other participants when accidents occur on the airport. vii.
