The terms of the contracts cover the perlods of FY2015 and FY2016 through FY2018. As such, a portion of the requested transfer will be allocated to pay retroactive salary adjustments and a portion will be allocated to adjust the FY2017 budgeted salaries for the Patrolmen. Sufficient funds are available within the reserve account to support this transfer, Reese initiate action on this matter at your next City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday August 2nd, 2016. This original amount was approved by the Council on June 20 2016 per order #2016.142. We were recently notified that we were awarded an increase in grant funds of $56,150, bringing the total grant award to $224,600. With your approval, this grant increase will be used to replace additional Breathing Apparatus Equipment for the Beverly Fire Department. Massachusetts General Law Chapter 44 Section 53A requires both council and mayoral approval before any grant or gifts to the city can be expended for their prescribed purpose. Cahill, Mayor Referred to Finance & Property #178 August 2, 2016 The Honorable City council City Hall Beverly, MA 01915 Dear Honorable Council: I am pleased to inform you that the City of Beverly, through our Engineering Department, has received a Multi Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the amount of $51,656. With your approval, this grant will be used to develop a comprehensive update of Bevedy's mule hazard mitigation plan in accordance with all current guidelines and regulations. The total cost of this project is estimated to be $68,875. The Citys responsibility of the cost will be $17,219 with the FEMA grant reirdsursing the City for the remaining 75% or $51,656.
