Administrative and Finance
Mary Ann discussed the YTD budget_ We are still in good shape_
At this time with three weeks left in 88% of the budget has been spent_
Our new budget will be a Level Funded Budget, Mary Ann will present
to the City Council on Wednesday June 8 th at 7pm_ She invited Board members to attend this
meeting at City Hall_
Programs and Events
Nominations for Senior of the Year will end as of June 10
Live your life well Program was funded by MCOA for $600_ This all day event was very
successful_
The Strength and Balance Class funded for $1800 by MCOA has been going well_ Staff from
Gordon College Center for Strength and Balance have been running the twice weekly classes_
Free BCOA Community Shredding Day was held Saturday June 4 from 9am to noon_
Thank you to Jessica and Chip_
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day was held in Downtown Beverly at City Hall Green
on Saturday, June 11 from 9 am to noon_
Community Housing Forum held on June 16 is the first of two meetings, to be held at BCOA_
Globe article handed out to the Board- `By 2020, Massachusetts will be home to more people 60
and older than to those under 20_ That means change in places that not long ago were building
schools for the baby boomers_"
Salad Bar Tuesdays and Thursdays -for a donation of two dollars and fifty cents enjoy salad with
your lunch_ Funded by a grant that Seniorcare, Inc_ received_

Eleven volunteers applied for the Property Tax Work off Program_
Mary Ann attended the Bootstraps Ribbon Cutting of the new facility located on Park Street_

Mary Ann attended the MCOA Meeting at Fort Devens with Jessica Waggett and board member
Larry Albert_ MaryAnn received the NCOA Award (previously announced) from an NCOA
staff member at the Annual meeting_
Jessica and Mary Ann met with UMass Boston faculty member to discuss their Community
Needs Assessment process_
We have had a request from Oceanview at Landmark, to transport residents_
Senior Day in the Park flyers distributed_

Committee Reports:
Scholarship Meeting -Blair Smith reported that four scholarships were approved_
Two for upcoming trips and two for air conditioners_
Awards Committee will meet with the Board on June 28 to select the Senior of the Year_
Blair Smith and Jessica Wistran, Esquire will serve on the Standards of Independence
Committee_ The Committee will address the guidelines for Independent seniors and those
that are not_
New Business
Tabled to next meeting — nominate a slate of officers_
Next Meeting will be Tuesday June 28, 2016 2.30 pm
