Meeting Called to Order: 2:35 pm by Blair Smith, Chairperson
Secretary's Report April meeting minutes were accepted as written, with one correction, Older
Americans Month is held in May.
Director's Report
Building
Gale Associates proposal for exterior building, window doors etc. updated info
will be sent via e -mail.
Painting of stage /upstairs hallway ceilings was quoted at $5000.00.
The Plumbing project to take place next week.
Waiting for the estimate to replace the carpeting in the dining room. The carpet was last
replaced in 2005.
Radiator units will be rebuilt.
Seniorcare has the funding to open a salad bar twice a week as part of the congregate lunch.
MaryAnn would hope to find funding to open it other days.
Administration and Finance
Mary Ann discussed the YTD Budget report in length. This year she will submit a
Level funded budget to the Mayor. In her budget meeting with the mayor she asked to fund and
hire two part time positions, one from the city budget and one from the Formula grant. She has
not been informed if the Mayor's budget proposal will include her request for a part time social
worker.

May is Older Americans month. The following are the events planned.

Patti Rice held two focus groups to learn about seniors ideas for activities.
A successful Volunteer Lunch was held on April 26
Live your life well workshop to be held on May 10 from 9 -2:30.
Committee Reports
By- Laws Committee — no meeting
Awards Committee- Second Board Meeting in June, June 28 the Board will select the Senior of
the Year.
Scholarship Committee - Several Scholarships for upcoming trips were awarded.
Property Tax Work Off Program/Park Beautification Program has eleven volunteers.
Merrimack Community Engagement year ends. On Monday May 9 th 10 -1 lam
Say goodbye to Devyn.
Meetings /Activities/ Clients
The High Risk Task Force continues to meet and is working towards a way of sharing
information regarding mutual clients. Senior care is seeking a Tufts grant to hire a facilitator for
the group.
Senior Care is planning to hire a Coordinator to work with the Task Force.
Personnel Updates
Vacancy for a part -time custodian- interviews are underway still an open position.
