Kevin O'Reilly presided.
Marshall Handly made the motion, seconded by Neil Olson, to accept the minutes of the regular
meeting of January 26, 2016 as read. Motion passed.
Election of Officers
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Joanne Panunzio, to nominate the current slate of
officers, Kevin O'Reilly as Chair and Joanne Panunzio as Secretary. There were no other
nominations. Motion passed.
Kevin O'Reilly appointed committee chairs. Personnel: Joanne Panunzio, Long Range Planning:
Mary Behrle, Administration: Kevin O'Reilly, and Finance: Marshall Handly.

Report of the Library Director
1) FY2016 Budget: Anna Langstaff reviewed FY2016 budget. 2) FY2017 Budget: Anna
Langstaff reviewed proposed FY2017 budget. Patricia Cirone will meet with the Mayor and
Bryant Ayles on April 12 to discuss the proposed FY2017 budget. After some discussion,
Marshall Handly made the motion, seconded Neil Olson, to:
approve the proposed FY2017 budget. Motion passed.
3) Building Issues: Generator has been fixed. Burglar alarm panel needs to be repaired. Winter
Street door openers need to be replaced. Still waiting to hear on the water quality test. 4)
Equipment: New shelving for the children's room should arrive soon and current children's
shelves will be moved to the magazine area. The city is exploring a VoIP phone system. Going
forward staff documents will be saved on the city server. 5) Community Assessment Grant: The
library received the community assessment grant. 6) Personnel: A new part-time children's
librarian has been hired. 7) Security: The staff entrance door now has a lock. A fire drill was
conducted in January, with plans to conduct another one in 6 months. 8) Trustee Vacancy:
Patricia Cirone has received no word on trustee vacancy. 9) NOBLE: NOBLE has launched
credit card acceptance for overdue fines and books. 10) Upcoming Programs and Events: Boys
on the Boat, Online Privacy, Monday Mornings, Digital Offerings at the Library, Genealogy
Series.
Communications
Letter received from YALSA Chair praising Allison Babin and Beverly teens that attended ALA
Midwinter Conference in Boston.
Unfinished Business
1) Security: Mary Behrle reported on the February 12 meeting with Pauline Teixeira and Kevin
O'Reilly to discuss the security concerns of the staff.
New Business
None
The next meeting of the board will be Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 6:15 PM at the Main Library.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
