Secretary's Report
November meeting notes accepted with the following changes; Jessica Wistran and Larry Albert
were not in attendance for the November meeting_
Director's Report
Building
Gutters were cleaned and repaired last week_ Three bids for repair to the heat/chill units in the
A/C room and pool room_ The lowest bid, therefore, accepted was for $4,674.75_
The new bus arrived on November 10'_ Mass Dot is visiting on December 9 th to audit the
transportation program_ First time the MA Dept_ of Transportation will be visiting the BCOA_
Thirty -five page questions are and audit_ Anti- discrimination, training and insurance of bus
drivers_
MCOA Service Incentive Grant application submitted for Winter /Spring semester_ Ma Council
of Aging RSVP Service grant for $2,500 will pay for a Falls Prevention Exercise Instructor_
In the spring two Gordon College Social Work students will volunteer 32 -35 hours per week_
The students will get college credits for their volunteer work at the center_
Administration and Finance
Mary Ann reported that the budget is on target_ Four thousand dollars is left in the maintenance
budget_ Will access funds from State Grant and Enterprise for building maintenance cost greater
than $4,000_
Programs and Events
"Breakfast Club" is comprised of BHS students and seniors_ The second meeting took place at
Beverly High School_ Five football players and a group of high school students along with
seniors attended_ BHS string quartet played beautiful background music_

Grandparents support group met, the topic was; "How to have a better relationship with your
grandchildren" This month it was a small group that met_
One hundred and twenty people had Thanksgiving lunch at the BCOA
December 8 th a Volunteer breakfast will be held at the center_
North Shore Council on Aging Director's meeting to take place in December_
The agenda includes discussion on the "Standards of Independence" MaryAnn
will share this information the next board meeting_
Snowball Soiree will take place next year on January 7 th 2016 from 4.30 to 7.30 PM
This is the New Year celebration at the Council on Aging - fifteen dollars per person_
Dinner of stuffed chicken and dancing to the music of Ray Novak and the Horizons Trio-
Meetings/Activities/ Clients
Discussion on the tax abatement program/property tax workoff through city hall underway_
Current proposal includes "beach ambassadors" who will volunteer at local beaches on weekends
from May through September_
Personnel Updates
New Position for a part time van driver is pending
Vacancy for a part-time custodian
Activities Coordinator vacancy
We have seven or eight applications so far for the custodian position_
New hire - Grant Manager at City Hall is Pricilla Walsh_
