2003-05-12BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MAY 12, 2003 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Danforth, Duval, Lydon, Mahoney, Simpson, Trask, and White ABSENT: Commissioner Nelson PUBLIC: Richard Mello, Dave Graham, Wil Gourdeau, Rich Little, Courtney Little, Victor Capozzi, Ken Robinson, Ken Lewis, Craig Schuster, Chris Costello, and Ray Igou A. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. 1. Presentations: · Edwards & Kelcey Update – Dave Graham gave a PowerPoint presentation on BVY’s approach surfaces. Obstructions will be addressed in a near future C.I.P. process meeting. · Self-Service – Rich Little, President of Aviators of New England, requested permission to self-fuel his flight school aircraft. He pointed out that FAA grant assurances permit aircraft owners/operators to self- fuel. There was some discussion. Commissioner Danforth said more information was needed and recommended that the discussion be tabled until more information was available. Mr. Little said he could have the information for the June B.A.C. meeting. There was no vote. 2. Reading of the Minutes for April 2003 – Chairman White called for a reading of the minutes from the April meeting. Commissioner Duval made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White gave the financial report for April 2003. Commissioner Duval made a motion to accept the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Commissioner Lydon. Motion passed unanimously. B. OLD BUSINESS: Sub-Committee Reports · Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Commissioner Mahoney discussed the need to talk with Greg Wyler about his hanger. When Mr. Wyler returns from Europe, a meeting will be set up to discuss the lease premises and the lease. It was brought up that the airport has not, to date, received any further information on a proposed Doozer pilot shop sublease. Another proposed Doozers sublet (a music company), per the 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MAY 12, 2003 City Solicitor’s recommendation, was not to be discussed by the Commission until the June B.A.C. meeting. The Gurnard site was also discussed and the need to keep pushing for the partial RAO. · Public Relations Subcommittee – Commissioner Simpson updated the Commission on an upcoming meeting with FAA to discuss precision landing system options at BVY. · Facilities and Maintenance Subcommittee – Commissioner Danforth updated the Commission on the status of a proposed BVY security projects M.A.C. grant. C. NEW BUSINESS: None D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT – Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the Commission on the traffic count, proposed sublease status, blimp visit, court and deposition date changes, industrial parcel information, proposed cell tower, ConCom site visits, and landing fee collection. E. COMMISSION/CHAIRMAN’S REPORT: · Vice Chairman Barnico requested Airport Manager check into getting Civil Air Patrol to perform some cleanup duties. · Commissioner Trask thanked Airport Manager Mezzetti for keeping him up to via email on Danvers related subjects.
