1700-03-07 (2)[Selectmen's Meeting March 7, 1700] At a meeting of the Selectmen on 7 March 1699/1700, Constable Richard Patch brought the following receipt. Viz.: Boston, November 22, 1699. Received of Mr. Richard Patch, Constable of Beverly, eighteen pounds, fifteen shillings, in full of a warrant for the like sum of eighteen pounds, fifteen shillings. Received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer. Jer. Allen At the same meeting of the Selectmen March 7, 1699/1700, Constable Roger Haskell brought the following receipt. Boston, November 15th, 1698. Received of Mr. Roger Haskell, Constable of Beverly, by & of Mr. Samuel Balch, thirty seven pounds, ten shillings in full of a warrant for said sum of thirty seven pounds, ten shillings. Received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer. Jer. Allen Boston, May 22nd, 1699. Received of Mr. Roger Haskell, Constable Beverly, sixty two pounds, ten shillings in full of a warrant for said sum of sixty two pounds, ten shillings. Received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer. Jer. Allen At a meeting of the Selectmen March the7, 1699/1700, then reckoned with Roger Haskell who was Constable for the year 1698 and he hath fully paid and satisfied for all country and town rates, committed to him and time of his Constableship, and he hath fully paid the overplus of Mr. Hale's rate, only he is to pay Mr. Hale his sixty two pounds due for his salary for said year, and to bring a receipt thereof from the said Mr. Hale.
