1706-02-15[Selectmen's Meeting February 15, 1706] At a meeting of the selectmen on the 15 of February, 1705/6, then John Lovett junr., one of the constables of Beverly, for the year 1704, brought several receipts of money paid by him to several persons, by order of the selectmen out of the town rate in said Lovett's hands, said receipts amounting to twenty pounds nineteen shillings and six pence. At a meeting of the selectmen on the 15 of February 1705/6, then Henry Herrick brought the following receipt. Received of Henry Herrick, Constable of Beverly, for the year 1704, forty two pounds, sixteen shillings and three pence which is in full of his part ordered to be paid. Per Thomas Blowers. Beverly, February 15th, 1705/6. November 5th, 1705. Received of Mr. Henry Herrick, Constable of Beverly, the full sum of seven pounds, thirteen shillings and six pence, in full payment of that which said Herrick was to gather for me, of the rate that was committed to his hands, bearing date the 17th day of January, 1705. I say received so much in full. By me James Hale. At a meeting of the selectmen on the 15 of February 1705/6, then Isaac Woodbury brought an order that was drawn by the selectmen, upon Jonathan Rayment, Constable of Beverly, for the year 1703, to pay said Woodbury three pounds out of the town rate in said Rayment's hands, which order is now returned not paid, and the said sum of three pounds is due to said Woodbury, besides what is due to him as appears by this book from the town. At a meeting of the selectmen on the 15th day of February 1705/6, reckoned with Henry Herrick, one of the constables of Beverly, for the year 1704, relating to all rates committed to the said Henry Herrick to collect, viz.: province rate, minister's rate, town rate and school rate, and said Herrick is fully discharged of them. At the meeting of the selectmen on the 15"' of February, 1705/6, was seventeen shillings and four pence money paid to Deacon Samuel Balch, of the town's money in part towards his service as representative. At a meeting of the selectmen on the 15th day of February 1705/6, Henry Herrick, Constable of Beverly for the year 1704, brought several receipts of money, paid by him to several persons per order of the selectmen out of the town rate in said Herrick's hands, amounting to thirty two pounds, three shillings and nine pence.
