1704-12-15[Selectmen's Meeting December 15, 1704]
At a meeting of the Selectmen of Beverly on the 15th day of December, 1704, Mr. Benjamin Ellingwood
brought the following receipt.
Beverly, February 15, 1704. Received of Benjamin Ellingwood, Constable of Beverly, for the year 1701,
the sum of sixty five pounds, five shillings, received is in full of his part ordered to be paid & etc.

At a meeting of the above said Selectmen on the 15th December 1704, Jonathan Rayment, Constable for
the year 1703, brought the following receipt, endorsed on the backside of his warrant from the Province
Treasurer, bearing date the 1st day of November, 1703.

Boston October 19, 1704. Received of Constable Rayment of Beverly eleven pounds, two shillings and
six pence, and full of the within mentioned warrant. Received for Mr. Treat, tailor.
At a meeting of the Selectmen of Beverly December the 15th, 1704, Samuel Corning junr., Brought the
following receipts. Boston October 20, 1704. Received of Constable Samuel Corning of Beverly, 7
pounds, thirteen shillings and eleven pence in full. Received for Mr. Treat, tailor
Per Jer. Allen
Received of Samuel Corning, Constable of Beverly, the sum of four pounds, fourteen shillings, upon the
accept of the County of Essex. Received in full of his part ordered to be paid.
Per John Appleton, County Treasurer. Ipswich January 31, 1703/4.
Received of Samuel Corning, Constable of Beverly, the sum of thirty seven pounds. Received is in full of
his part ordered to be paid.
Received that Mr. Samuel Corning July the 12th, 1703, for the remainder of the salary due to the
schoolmaster, four pounds and ten shillings in full. I say received by me Daniel Dodge.
At the same meeting abovesaid, the said Samuel Corning brought two receipts from under said Daniel
Dodge, his hand, one bearing date the 28th May 1703, for eighteen shillings; the other dated the 5th of
June 1703, for two pounds, two shillings.
At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 15th day of December, 1704, was an order drawn upon John
Lovett, junr., Constable of Beverly, to pay unto Deacon John Hill five pounds and fifteen shillings in
money, out of the town rate now in said Lovett's hands, which money is due to said Deacon Hill for
keeping Joshua Turland in the year 1703.
At the same meeting of the Selectmen December 15, 1704, was an order drawn upon Henry Herrick,
Constable of Beverly, to pay unto John King junr., of Salem fifty shillings in money, out of the town rate
now in his hands, said fifty shillings being due to said King for keeping his mother -in -law at Dorcas
Hoare in the year 1704.
