1703-04-16This agreement made this 16th day of April one thousand seven hundred and three witnesseth, that I, John
Hill, of the town of Beverly, cooper, do by these presents, covenant with the Selectmen of the town of
Beverly to take, keep and maintain Joshua Turland one of the poor of said town, and to find him meat,
drink, washing and lodging suitable for such a person for the term of one whole year from the date hereof,
for and in consideration, whereof the Selectmen of the town of Beverly, do promise in behalf of our town,
that the said Hill shall be paid the sum of nine pounds, five pounds whereof in money, and four pounds in
grain, the grain to be paid by the last day of October next. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our
