1702-03-30March 30, 1702. Lieut. John Dodge and Mr. Edward Dodge, they being a committee in behalf of the town of Beverly to take inspection of all encroachments upon all our town commons, in the year of our Lord 1694 and the said committee being empowered to make sale to any person that had fenced in of the town, and, not exceeding half an acre to each person and the said committee made returned on the 30 of March 1702 that they had sold to Richard Thissell twelve poles of land, at the south end of his lot, alias called Plum Tree lot and the said Thissell hath paid for the said land, it being all the land that said Thissell had fenced of the town's common.
