1701-08-26[Selectmen's Meeting August 26, 1701] At a meeting of the Selectmen who are Assessors by law, on the 26th day of August 1701, was a Province rate made amounting to 71 pounds 19 shillings 7 pence and committed to Lot Conant, and Benjamin Ellingwood to collect and pay into the Province Treasurer 68 pounds 2 shillings and the overplus to pay to the town of Beverly, the list committed to Lot Conant being 35 pounds 9 shillings and the list committed to Benjamin Ellingwood being 36 pounds 10 shillings 7 pence Constable Lot Conant's part to pay to the Treasurer being 33 pounds 10 shillings, Constable Benjamin Ellingwood's part to pay to the Treasurer being 33 pounds 12 shillings.
