1698-05-17[Selectmen's Meeting May 17, 1698] At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 17 of May, 1698, was an order delivered to William Bath, to receive of Constable Roger Haskell four pounds, which was in part of pay for the said Bath's keeping of Joshua Turland in the year 1696, and there yet remains due to the said Bath of the account of aforesaid, the sum three pounds & six shillings. At the same meeting, delivered unto Capt. William Dodge, an order to receive of Constable Roger Haskell, fifteen shillings out of the town's money now in his hands, which is part of pay for four and twenty shillings due to the said Capt. Dodge, for money by him disbursed between Wenham and our town, on which account there is yet due to the said captain Dodge, the sum of nine shillings, the which together with five shillings formally due is fourteen shillings, which the town is now indebted to the said William Dodge and no more, any former record notwithstanding.
