1694-01-15 (2)[Selectmen's Meeting January 15, 1694] At a meeting of the selectmen of Beverly the 15th January 1693/4 then order the recording of the return as followeth viz. Whereas we under name have been ordered by our town to order or settle to Thomas Whittridge of our town, some land out of the common land of our town's, have laid out and bounded to said Whittridge for his convenience in fencing, about three quarters of one acre of land, being more or less, bounded in the first place, with a stake near said Whittridge's house, and from there to a stake and heap of stones near the house of John Knights, thence to the land of said Whittridge where we settled a stake and heap of stones near the house of John Williams. January ls 1693/4 At the same meeting of the selectmen 15 January 1693/4, then received of the above said Thomas Whittridge the sum six shillings in money, the which together with one pound and four shillings, otherwise received is in full satisfaction for the three - quarters of an acre of land next above - named.
