PRESENT: Commissioners Dawe, DiPaolo, Faulstich, Forgione, Mahoney, Nelson, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioners Dettorre and Skerry
PUBLIC: Jim Baker, Ace and Charlene Chase, Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Bill Kossowan, and Ken
Robinson
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for March 2015 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the minutes
from the March meeting (there was no April 2015 meeting). Commissioner Faulstich made a
motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously.
Reading of the Financial Reports for March & April 2015 — Commissioner White presented the
financial reports for March & April 2015. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the
financial reports, subject to audit. Commissioner DiPaolo seconded the motion. Motion passed
unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) — Craig Schuster of Jacobs Engineering updated the commission on the FYI
Taxiway `B" & "D" Edge Lights; RW 9 & 27 PAPI's; Airport Signs; and Enhanced Hold Lines
Project. He mentioned that after October 1s FAA would have to do a RW 9/27 flight check and
it would cost $7,200.00, which would be reimbursable. Dave Graham reported on RW16 tree
penetrations to its approach and stated it would take one (1) day and $3,200.00 to remove them.
Motion made by Commissioner White to approve $3,200.00 for the removal, seconded by
Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed unanimously.
Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale reported:
There is opposition from some regarding an airport name change; some thought the name
"John Mountan Field" would disappear. He said that "John Mountan Field" would stay as it
always has and the other name "Beverly Municipal Airport" may change to "Beverly
Regional Airport ". Motion by Commissioner Faulstich to change the name of "Beverly
Municipal Airport" to "Beverly Regional Airport" to reflect FAA's official designation of
Beverly Municipal Airport as a regional airport. Motion seconded by Commissioner Dawe.
Motion passed unanimously.
• He was recently deposed regarding the Ellrich Hangar case.

There is a permit for the demolition of Building #45 but the Mayor has not signed it yet.
Motion by Commissioner White to table discussion on the building demolition until the June
BAC meeting, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed unanimously.
Airport Manager Mezzetti will buy three (3) copies of the "History of Beverly Airport" from
the Beverly Historical Society.
B. OLD BUSINESS:
1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney gave an update on the
status of the New Admin Building contracts. He also discussed the 3 -hour "Kick -Off'
meeting.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No May noise complaints were received.
• Facility Maintenance — Commissioner Faulstich reported that all-in -all things looked pretty
tidy.
• Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner Forgione reported that the new crash
grid maps were done and the airport website had 1,840 hits in April 2015.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioner DiPaolo talked about re- enactments with
aircraft and vehicles, threat levels at major airports, and airport brochures (he still has some).
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No report, although Airport Manager Mezzetti
voiced his opinion that small GA airports should receive federal and state funds to pay for
airport -based police.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee collection,
MALS repair project status, snow removal, New Admin Building project status, FF15 C. I. P. project status,
Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) meeting, BVY airport security camera status, and the Massachusetts
Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study Update.
D. NEW BUSINESS:
Commissioner White presented the final FYI airport budget for approval. Motion by Commissioner
Faulstich to approve the FYI airport budget, seconded by Commissioner Dawe. Motion passed
unanimously.

E. TENANT COMMENTS:
• Ace Chase reported his hangar are full but he has some empty tiedowns.
• Ken Robinson reported his business was okay, both for fueling and the flight school, Beverly Flight
Center.
• Bill Kossowan talked about AOPA and the Pilot's Bill of Rights as well as the Town of Danvers'
elections.
• Jim Baker talked about his hangars' use for a movie scene.
F. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
