1691-12-12We, whose names are hereunder subscribed, being met together on the 12th day of December in the year of our Lord 1691, to layout and bound a small parcel of land in our town's common land to Thomas Woodbury junr. which is for and in consideration of so much land to said Woodbury exchanged to and with the said town of Beverly the said Woodbury having so agreed as doth appear by a town vote bearing date the seventh of this instant, December 1691, and we under named being then chosen and empowered by and in behalf of said town have accordingly received and taken an account of the quantity of the said Woodbury's land which now is exchanged to and with the said town, and have laid out and bounded to the said Woodbury, so much for so much, it being an equal quantity, in our town common land in and near the place which was agreed upon by the said town and the said Woodbury namely, to the eastward of the said Woodbury, his dwelling house, in and upon the town common rocky land, it being about six acres, and is bounded as followeth to wit, the first bounds of the said land, is a white pine tree marked with four marks, and is the southeasterly bounds of said land, and from the said pine northeasterly to an ash tree with a little hemlock growing with it, said ash and hemlock being both marked and being the northeast bounds of the said land and from said ash and hemlock, westward to a dried, dead white oak standing in or near to John Lovett, his stone wall, said oak being marked also and from said oak to a red oak westward being the bounds of Robert Bradford and John Lovett and from said oak Robert Bradford stone wall, as it now standeth, southerly from the above said red oak to a part [illegible] at the pith of the hill near to said Bradford's, his land, standing in the said wall, where he goeth into the common and from said rock to the which line being the first bounds above mentioned, the said land as before mentioned the said Woodbury have exchanged for the land above bounded is that land which is Jonathan Morse, his land, sold by him to the said Woodbury.
