Assessors 1708-09-06[Assessors' Meeting September 6, 1708] A meeting of the Assessors of the town of Beverly on September the 6th day 1708, were two lists of a Province rate made pursuant to the Province Treasurer's warrant to them directed, dated July the 12th, 1708. One of said list amounting to one hundred forty one pounds nine shillings three pence being committed unto Thomas Whittridge one of the constables of Beverly to collect and pay in unto the said Province Treasurer. One hundred thirty pounds ten shillings, and the overplus being 8 pounds 19 shillings 3 pence he is directed to pay unto the Town Treasurer or the Selectmen for the use of the said town, the other of said list amounting to one hundred thirty one pounds ten shillings three pence, being committed unto Nathaniel Rayment one of the constables of Beverly to collect and pay into the Province Treasurer, one hundred twenty eight pounds ten shillings and the overplus being 3 pounds 0 shillings and 3 pence he is directed to pay in unto the said Town Treasurer or Selectmen for the use of the town of Beverly.
