1707-08-27[Assessors' Meeting August 27, 1707] At a meeting of the Assessors of Beverly on the 27"' August, 1707, were two lists of a Province rate made by virtue of the Treasurer's warrant, to them directed, bearing date the 17 of June 1707, said list being committed to Jonathan Dodge senr., and Cornelius Baker, constables of Beverly, to collect and pay into the Province Treasurer, the list committed to Jonathan Dodge senr., amounting to one hundred thirty three pounds, ten shillings, he to pay into the Province Treasurer £129:10, and the overplus being four pounds, he is directed to pay in unto the Town Treassurer or Selectmen for the use of the town, said list bearing date the 27 of August, 1707, and the list committed to Cornelius Baker amounting to one hundred thirty eight pounds, eleven shillings, he is to pay in unto the Province Treasurer, £131:10, the overplus being £7:01, he is directed to pay in unto the Selectmen for the use of the town.
