the age of 14 -17 can use the salons with parental consent most seem to be sixteen and over.
Danvers has recently passed new regulations restricting the use of the tanning facilities to anyone
under the age of eighteen. Mr. Burke will survey other towns and cities to see if they are looking
into changing their regulations also.
Mark Tolman and Teresa Kirsch inspected the two Body Art Establishments, Good Mojo
Tattoos and The Purple Scorpion Body Piercing/ Lions Den Tattoos and both were
approved.
The Department of Health conference calls concerning the Ebola virus are ongoing but lessening.
There have been no cases reported in this community.
Mr. Burke will be seeking memorandum of understanding from the Mayor, Police, and Schools
regarding regional under age drinking grant with Gloucester as the fiscal agent and programmatic
sponsor of the grant. Also to participate are the towns of Essex, Rockport, and Manchester.
Beverly will receive training, capacity building and shared resources to strengthen strategies that
address underage drinking and other drug use among youth in this community. The grant is for
$100,000 per year for three years with potential renewals contingent upon Federal funding and
performance.
Dr. Carbone commended the Health Department for getting involved with the other communities
in their involvement with under age drinking and drug abuse.
Joe Reale has organized five sessions of the Choke Saver Training Classes held here at the Senior
Center. It is offered through the Red Cross at a cost of $3 and there has been a very good
response from the local food establishments.
On December 30t' Mr. Burke attended an IBC meeting at Cell Signaling. Mr. Burke will use
the same consultant that assisted him last year with inspections and foresees being more
confortable doing the inspections because of the training he received last year. A Biological

Dr. Carbone suggested that the board may want to think of any topics they would like to discuss
in future meetings.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy McCullough
