2003-08-11BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 11, 2003 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Duval, Lydon, Mahoney, Simpson, Trask, and White ABSENT: Commissioners Danforth and Nelson PUBLIC: Ken Lewis, Jay Wessen, Ken Robinson, Dave Graham, Rich Mello, Craig Schuster, and Rich & Courtney Little A. CALL TO ORDER Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 1. Presentations: · Edwards and Kelcey Update – Dave Graham and Craig Schuster. No formal report. Craig Schuster submitted an airport setback map per previous request of Commissioner Simpson. · Global Aviation Group LLC – No presentation. · Aviators of New England – Mr. Rich Little made a presentation involving potential hangar and tiedown development. The airport manager will discuss potential C.I.P. impacts with E&K. 2. Reading of the Minutes for July 2003 – Chairman White called for a reading of the minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner Lydon made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White gave the financial report for July 2003. Commissioner Mahoney made a motion to accept the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Commissioner Duval. Motion passed unanimously. B. OLD BUSINESS · Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Commissioner Mahoney discussed Gurnard remediation status and the Wyler lease and the difference in positions regarding rent payment. It was decided not to charge Wyler additional rent due to City Solicitor’s opine and the other cases already in court taking up time and resources. · Public Relations Sub-Committee – Commissioner Simpson reported on a fuel flowage fee survey he did of Massachusetts 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 11, 2003 Airports. A discussion ensued on BVY fuel flowage fees. Commissioner Trask made a motion that effective January 1, 2004 the BVY fuel flowage fee be increased by one cent ($0.01) per gallon and then increased another one cent ($0.01) per gallon on January 1, 2005. Fuel flowage fee collection will be accomplished as outlined in current agreements. Commissioner Simpson seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. · Facilities and Maintenance Subcommittee – No report. C. NEW BUSINESS – None D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT · Commissioner Duval reported that he had heard from Victor Capozzi and that Mr. Capozzi was interested in “making peace” with the Commission and was the Commission interested in talking with Capozzi. It was decided that the airport manager would ask the City Solicitor what to do. E. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Lydon, seconded by Commissioner Barnico.
