2014-11-20Beverly Cable Advisory Commission November 20, 2014 Members Present: Muriel Zaginailoff, Chair; D. Berman, Secretary, Diane Costa; Eric Overberg; Al Torsey; Alex Ushakoff Members Absent: None Others Present: Kevin Harutunian, Mayor's Chief of Staff Recorder: Donald Berman The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Muriel. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Muriel reported on a complaint (previously mentioned) made by Mr. Harry Poulton that she had requested be submitted in written form and had not yet received any further response. Muriel distributed our meeting calendar for year 2015. Muriel then distributed for discussion her memo to be sent to Paul Earl, President of the BevCam Board, requesting answers to specific questions about scheduling installations at the BCOA and the Public Library. This memo is intended to serve as the agenda for our next joint meeting with BevCam. A meeting that would include the Executive Director of the BCOA and the Public Library was suggested since both need to be involved with the installations. Alex expressed concern that BevCam make certain that both installations were independently operational and did not depend on needing further equipment from BevCam in order to transmit over the I -Net cable. It was agreed that the ongoing issue of BevCam's lack of compliance in financial reporting be taken up at a subsequent quarterly meeting in March, 2015. Discussion about further issues such as the need for cooperation on the development of an application for a third channel for BevCam to enable separation of public, education and government programming. Kevin gave a brief, succinct summary of administration on going projects in the city Such as Brimbal avenue interchange, Rantoul street upgrading, Cabot street upgrading, waterfront development for public use, I -Net expansion and the application of technology to city department operations. Muriel invited members and their spouses to a holiday gathering at her home on December 13 at 4:00 PM. The next scheduled meeting to be held jointly with BevCam will be on December 18. The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 PM.
