CHAIRMAN GILMORE STATED THAT A STAMPED PLAN WILL BE NECESSARY TO
OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE.

THE PROJECT INVOLVES CONSTRUCTION OF TWO SEGMENTS OF 30~ FORCE
MAIN TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 2765 LINEAR FEET THROUGH 1) INTERTIDAL
AND SUBTIDAL PORTIONS OF THE DANVERS RIVER (AREA 1) AND 2)
INTERTIDAL PORTIONS OF THE KERNWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE ESTUARY (AREA2).
iT ALSO INVOLVES CONSTRUCTION 1-30" AND 2-24" SIPHONS (1400 LINEAR
FEET) ACROSS THE BASS RIVER FROM HOBART-AVENUE TO A CONNECTION
ADJACENT TO THE WARD II PLAYGROUND (AREA 3). THESE ARE THE FINAL
SEGMENTS TO BE COMPLETED FOR THE DANVERS/BEVERLY RELIEF
INTERCEPTOR. PREVIOUS PORTIONS, WHERE REQUIRED, HAVE BEEN
PERMITTED SEPARATELY.
REVISED/ADDITIONAL PLANS WERE SUBMITTED AT THIS TIME. ARTHUR
KNIGHT MADE THE PRESENTATION.
THIS BEING'THE WATER PORTION OF THE PROJECT. THIS IS BASICALLY AN
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT. AT THIS TIME SUBMITTALS RE: THE STATE
REQUIREMENTS OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL WERE DISTRIBUTED.
AREA'l: HAY BALES, RIP RAP HAVE BEEN ADDED. ARTHUR KNIGHT
EXPLAINED THE BARGING OPERATION AND HOW THE MATERIALS WOULD BE
PLACED ON A SCOW WITH SIDING, SO AS NOT TO SPILL OVER. WILL USE
PEASTONE AS A CUSHION FOR LAYING THE PIPE. THE HAY BALES AND SILT
FENCES WILL BE USED TO PREVENT SEDIMENTATION. THE BUCKETS USED FOR
DREDGING WILL HAVE HOODS ON THEM,SO AS TO PREVENT MATERIALS FROM
SPILLING OUT. THE CONTRACTOR WILL WORK FROM OCTOBER 1§ TO FEBRUARY
15, SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH RECREATION TIME.
AREA 2-HAY BALES AND RIP RAP SLOPING HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE PLANS
IN 3 DESIGNATED AREAS. SHOWN ON PLANS SUBMITTED THIS EVENING.
MATERIALS USED UNDER THE PIPE, SCREENED GRAVEL, CLEAN SAND, ETC.
SAME TIME SPAN, AS IN AREA 1, OCTOBER 15 - FEBRUARY 15, WORK TO BE
DONE.' AN ANAEROBICAREAWHERE CONCRETE SHEETING IS DONE WELL BELOW
THE SURFACE.
AREA 3- STARTS AT THE END OF HOBART AVENUE ACROSS THE BASS RIVER
AND CONNECTING ONTO GOAT HILL. TEMPORARy STEEL SHEETING WILL BE
USED IN THIS AREA AND LEFT IN PLACE ONE FOOT ABOVE THE TOP OF THE
.30 INCH PIPE. WILL WORK SO THAT HALF OF THE RIVER WILL REMAIN OPEN
FOR BOATING PURPOSES.

BOTANIST, JAMiE MARN, METCALF AND EDDY, COMMENTED ON THE SALT
HARSH, MUST KEEP IT MOIST AND SOFT, TO STORE FOR WEEKS ONLY, IN A
RESOURCE AREA. TO WORK QUICKLY IN THE SALT HARSH AREA. THE
PROGRESS RE: THE START, ETC. SHOULD BE STATED IN THE ORDER OF
CONDITIONS, SUGGESTED BY RAY BOUCMARD.
