2014-10-14BEVERLY GOLF & TENNIS COMMISSION October 14, 2014 Meeting Minutes COMMISSIONERS Mr. Lowd Mr. Crandall Mr. Lawler GFMI Mr. Carter Mr. Dionne Mr. McHugh Mr. Murphy Mr. Page Guest Mr. Dever Meeting called to order at 7pm. There is no quorum at this evenings meeting, discussions only were held. Minutes for September There was no quorum; therefore the minutes for September will be reviewed at the November meeting. Finance Report Mr. Lawler distributed the Finance Report to the Commission members. ADA UPDATE /SIGNS Mr. Dever indicated that the ADA signs have been received and most have them have been displayed. He did also state that some have some mounting problems and will discuss those issues with Mr. Bouchard and Gienapp to resolve them. Project(s) Status: • Phase One of the paving project has been approved. Mr. Bouchard will address the chimney /animal issue. • Steps - The City has just finished the facilities at Obear Park and may suggest the same coating project for the steps at the 19 Hole entrance. Carter Report Mr. Carter distributed his Rounds Report and his Revenue Report. • Rounds Report shows fairly close to last year's numbers. He also indicated that Mr. Dionne has events planned for October and November. He also reviewed the Revenue Report with the Commission Members. • Portable toilets: Both will be removed at the end of the month and he reminded Mr. Lowd that they invoices have not yet been paid, but were forwarded to David Gelineau for payment. Tennis program: Mr. Carter updated the Commission on the completion of the Tennis Program for the season. He indicated that Mr. LaPierre reported that the screens are all in place for the winter. The water lines need to be blown out by the City to close the tennis building for the season. He reported that they had a great tennis season. Page Report • Roof over the veranda has been patched and for the most part is in great shape. It has a few drips but nowhere near where it used to be. He also stated that a new water booster needs to be purchased for the kitchen to bring the water to 180 degrees to sterilize the dishes. • Painter will start Friday to do painting on golf course side of the club house, exterior and windows. • One of the refrigerators in the restaurant is not working. Mr. Page distributed the three bids he got for the replacement of the ballroom rugs; Pelletier, Paul Ritchie & Motion Floors. Mr. Crandall noted that only one bid states removal of old carpet; he has asked Mr. Page to confirm the other bids include removal and disposal of old material. Mr. Page stated that he would confirm and indicated that the lead time for the rug project would be middle of January. Bids sent to David Gelineau for review. Roger Tremblay will re -do the veranda railing bid to include all around the building to bring up to code and clarify open questions on 2" floor railings and windows. Mr. Lowd mentioned that he will request support from the Park and Rec Commission (Henry Pizzo) to assist in developing a proposal to the CPA in support of the Historic classification of the BG & T Clubhouse.
