Kelley, Esq., Chairman George Heller John Roccio LICENSE BOARD MINUTES — OCTOBER 7, 2010 The meeting of the Beverly License Board was called to order on Thursday, October 7, 2010 in City Council Chambers at 6:30 pm. In attendance at the meeting were: Chairman Richard Kelley, Board Members George Heller, John Roccio and Clerk, Martha Lewis. Also in attendance: Sgt. William Page and Lt. Michael Devlin of the Beverly Police Department. Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm 1. Sunoco Aplus — Change of Manager application received. The applicant did not attend meeting and no one represented the company. Board to send letter inviting applicant to appear at the next meeting on November 4, 2010. 2. One Day Licenses: Applications received for special one day licenses were reviewed by Board. All applications were within the hours limit. Mr. Roccio motioned to approved applications for one -day licenses. Motion was seconded by Mr. Heller. Applications were approved 3 — 0. 3. All Other Business for Entertainment License from Atomic Cafe Owner John Mahoney submitted a letter of request for an entertainment license at his business located at 265 Cabot Street. He would like to offer a venue for his employees, local artists and musician to play during the slower business months — typically winter. No amplification systems will be used. The business is open until 9:00 pm Monday — Fridays and until 6:00 pm on Saturdays. License Board Minutes — October 7, 2010 Mr. Mahoney has discussed with the tenants who reside above the Cafe. Mr. Kelley advised Mr. Mahoney to be considerate of the neighbors Mr. Roccio stated that there had been an issue with the Church next door complaining of noise in the neighborhood. Mr. Kelley advised Mr. Mahoney to speak with Father Barnes and let him know of his plans. Mr. Kelley believes that this is a different situation, the earlier complaints were due to loud music and neighbor not being sensitive to those complaints. Mr. Heller made a motion to approve the entertainment license. Motion was seconded by Mr. Roccio. Entertainment license was approved 3 -0. Letters received from the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission regarding offering Keno to Go for Tedeschi, 52 Cabot Street and Cummings Center Corner, 100 Cummings Center, 106K were reviewed and placed on file. Designated Agents of Board request. City Solicitor Roy Gelineau has letter for consideration and is in the process of getting information from Boston. Lt. Devlin stated that Roy Gelineau has spoken with Police Chief Ray. Hearing no further comments, Mr. Roccio made a motion to adjourn. Motion seconded. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.
