Meeting called to order at 7pm.
Mr. Barger is sitting in a chair this evening explaining that Mr. Lowd is out of town on
business.
Mr. Barger welcomed Mr. Cahill as a visitor to the meeting this evening.
Minutes for July 2013
Mr. Lawler motioned to approve, seconded by Mr. Ascolillo. Motion carried 4 -0.
Finance Report
Mr. Lawler distributed and reviewed the Finance report with the Commission
members.
Club House Improvements
Mr. Dunn distributed his up -to -date Capital Improvement report showing a
negative balance. He continued to explain that the handicap ramp and the
decking for the veranda was a major expense and being ADA compliant were
mandatory. He also stated that when opening up a wall would reveal other
problems that had to be resolved. Other ADA work still pending, but the
Architecture Access Board states we have a period of time to accomplish these;
door handles, restroom access, etc.
The LaPierre Report
Mr. LaPierre indicated that tennis is wrapping up. He had the last large event last
weekend, Super Senior Event. They used Mr. Page's services. He indicated that the
courts with be broken down in the next three weeks. The summer months were ok, the
spring was rainy. The membership remains the same as last year and the Tennis Shop is
in good shape.
The Page Report
Mr. Page stated that there was an influx of more business last month with the
construction completed. There is an increase in bookings from last year. There is a drop
in liquor and an increase in food. There are three weddings left for this year so far; and
there are Christmas parties booked. He also indicated that the contractors need to clean
the ballroom and that the ballroom needs some cosmetic work.
Mr. Barger stated that the ballroom needs some paint.
The Carter Report
Mr. Carter stated that August was a good month; good rounds. Although August was 7%
off from last year, he is hoping September will be a good month. The outings for August
were good, three new outings will return next year. They have decided to utilize new
limited flight balls that will have 10% to 15% less travel in air distance. They are bright
yellow. The maintenance garage chain link fence was $895.
The Dionne Report
Mr. Dionne explained Membership Bonus Day where they get to bring three guests at no
cost just cart fees and 20% off food. He is hoping it will generate more members to the
club.
The Murphy Report
Mr. Murphy stated that the electric work on the garage is finished. He wants to get the
gas lines in. The City moved the diesel tank. He indicated that he extended the 15 tee
further back. They will work on the 11 and 12 through Thanksgiving. The City came
in and trimmed trees near the tennis courts and other dead trees. He thanked the City for
all their efforts and help.
