Meeting was called to order at 7pm.
Meeting for July
Mr. Lawler motioned to approve the July minutes, seconded by Mr. Crandall.
Motion carried 5 -0. Please note there was no meeting held in August.
BGT SITE PROJECT STATUS
Exhaust Fan:
Mr. Carter indicated not installed at this time. The contractor hasn't been
available but has assured the Commission it will be completed by the end of
September. This item will carry over to the next meeting.
Portable Potty's:
Mr. McHugh indicated that they have been erected; vandalism free; they are
being used. The Club also got the municipal price of $150 /month. They will be
picked up first week of November. They are being cleaned up very nicely. The
fence enclosure will be in place for next year.
Goodyear St. Fence:
Mr. Murphy indicated that the fence in almost complete. The neighbors seem to
like it. It doesn't block the view and it will serve the purpose.
Carpet:
Mr. Page indicated that he submitted the three bids at the July meeting. He also
indicated that he has three Christmas parties booked and would like to have the
work done in January. He will bring carpet samples to October meeting and work
with BGT to solidify bids to narrow down decision.
Painting Exterior:
Mr. Page submitted a bid from Scialdone Painting for painting of the golf course
side of the Club House, $7700. This bid includes prime, paint, trim and body, prep
and patch stucco, including windows. Mr. Lawler motioned to accept, seconded
by Mr. Ascolillo. Motion carried 6 -0.
Tabled Item: The BGT will discuss further the painting of the remaining exterior of
the Club House and the submitted bids.
Roof Repair:
Mr. Page stated that a sealant has been applied to the leaking part of the roof
over the veranda and it seems to be repaired.
Veranda /Decking Repair:
Mr. Nevers stated that the company, Gienapp Design and Seaver Construction,
Architect and Contractor, who were involved with the construction of the veranda
and handicap ramp, came and sanded and resealed the veranda, reapplied the
sealant. The sealant was over applied and they had to mop up the excess. We
were told that it met criteria and we need to apply a water sealer once a year.
Mr. Page stated there is Thompson Clear Coat on there now. He also stated that
there are still puddles on the deck and they need to squeegee. They also fixed the
buckle in the wood.
Mr. Barger would like to see some improvement on the stairs leading up to the
restaurant /bar entrance. They seem to need repair as well.
Mr. Nevers also indicated that they extended the warranty on the stairs. It was a
bad pour. If it fails, they will come back.
Mr. Page distributed an estimate from Roger A. Tremblay for rails for upper and
lower front porches. He commented that this is a very detailed estimate and he
was very impressed with the representative. Mr. Lowd stated he will file the bid
for future submission. He would the BGT Commission to apply for CPA funding to
finance this project.
Maintenance Building:
Mr. Nevers stated that the City has just started their paving projects and they will
be busy and tied up for a bit. They will hopefully get to the drainage before the
first snow fall. He assured GFMI that the heater will be done.
ADA Compliance Report 2014
Mr. Nevers indicated that the hinges and signs to complete the 2014
requirements are in and ready to be installed. Mike Bouchard and he will have
the list completed by end of October 2014. In Process.
Finance Report
Mr. Lawler distributed two finance reports. The Fiscal Year End 2014. The Fiscal
2015 New Finance Report. He indicated to the Commission that on the new
report there are new line items; he would like address these new line items to Mr.
Ayles for clarification.
The Carter Report
Mr. Carter distributed his rounds report. He indicated that July increased from
last year yet August decreased from last year. He also stated that the leagues are
finishing up, Mr. Dionne is doing a great job. His rounds for the year are in
ballpark, 34000 to 35000. He also indicated that the Membership Drive is in gear
right now and hoping to pick up 15 to 25 new bodies.
They have Membership Bonus Days, guest day is Tuesday, Wednesday or
Thursday. They can walk the course for free or use a cart for a small fee. It give
the Member the opportunity to show off the course and hopefully bring in new
members.
As for the revenue report, the Pro Shop is doing well. July is not a busy month for
functions but they have two weddings coming up.
GFMI has also placed an ad in Keller Williams Realty folder; for new home buyers
they will see and advertisement from Beverly Golf and Tennis Club.
Mr. Carter stated that over the weekend they had to do significant repairs to the
pump house in the approximate cost between $7000 to $8000. Mr. McHugh
went into detail regarding the specifics of the repairs and indicated that 90% of
the pump house has been updated. The only original part remaining is the pipe
under McKay Street.
McHugh Report
Mr. McHugh commented on the T- Boxes; they get better each year. He stated
that the soil is heavy. He said time and patience will get us there.
Murphy Report
Mr. Murphy will be starting work in October to include the 10 tee, back level, old
marker tees, leveling on 1 and 3. There are a lot of gentlemen playing on white
markers. He want to move them forward to increase speed. He indicated that 11
& 12 are poor and he wishes to work on those. He also wishes to work with the
Dionne Report
Mr. Dionne stated that he will be placing another add in Benchcraft. Tournaments
were good. He got one new member today, a Beverly resident. Mr. Doig called
regarding Mr. Connolly's bench on 11. He was told the green color was
discontinued and he will match the color of 15 and will put a rush on it. In

LaPierre Report (by Mr. Carter)
Mr. Carter stated that tennis is winding down, the tournaments are done. The
courts are and have been in great shape. Tennis members were very happy this
year.
Page Report
Mr. Page stated that they hosted three reunions and they all booked for next
year. He indicated that the Club House improvements are bringing in the
business
Guest
Mr. Coughlin, a longtime resident of Beverly, attended this evenings meeting and
wanted to compliment GFMI on a job well done. He extended a special thank you
to Mr. Dionne and stated that GFMI and the Commission is a great asset for the
City of Beverly.
In closing, Mr. Carter informed the Commission that Mr. Dionne qualified for the
PGA next year.
