Meeting called to order at 7pm.
Minutes for February, 2014
Mr. Lawler motioned to accept the minutes for June, seconded by Mr. Richardson.
Motion carried 6 -0.
Finance Report
Mr. Lawler distributed the up -to -date financial spreadsheets for the bond and maintenance
Accounts to the Commission.
Golf Update
Chairman reviewed the letters submitted to Mayor Cahill from the Commission regarding
Rates for 2014 and request to extend the GFMI contract for five years.
Chairman reviewed the meeting with Mayor Cahill to prepare for the upcoming meetings
with the City Council regarding Rates for 2014 and GFMI's request to extend their
contract for another five years.
Rates were approved for 2014 by the City Council and request made to the City Council
for the extension of the contract which was moved to the Legal Affairs Committee for
discussion at their next meeting, March 17. Commission members invited to attend
this meeting.
March 10 newspaper article asking for clarifying GFMI revenue figures 2010 — 2013.
The financial figures being prepared by GFMI for presentation to Mayor and City Council.
The Carter Report
Mr. Carter stated he has the financial data needed and will have it ready for presentation to
Mayor and City Council.
Membership for 2014 coming in, received — $90, 000, to date.
Tennis program has Junior Recreation program with Park & Rec, moving to BHS this summer
Maintenance building interior wall status: materials on site, initial framing started.
The Dionne Report
Tournaments in process of being set up, almost all done.
New Rates for 2014 are up on the website, flyer being developed for "Young Adult" category.
New ladies program created for 2014.
The McHugh Report
Mr. McHugh just waiting for snow and ice to melt.
The Burt Page Report
Ballroom and Pub painting is finished, both came out very nice.
Impact on installation of the elevator lifts has been very positive. 2013 had 6 weddings
and 2014 have 7 lined up already, Burt reports "more incentive for the customer ".
May need to keep monitoring the beer chest for problems.
Convection oven having problems and may need to be replaced. Burt was asked to
obtain some pricing information to replace.
Request made to have the basement area in the clubhouse cleaned up. Motion made
and approved to have the area cleaned up at a cost NTE $2500, passed 6 -0.
General discussions
Couple of ideas brought up, 1) make the up stairs ladies room a unisex bathroom and
handicap accessible to avoid handicap person on the ballroom level from having to
come to the basement level using the elevator lifts, 2) Split the locker room on the
lower level M & W, may only need a wall to separate.
Commission to discuss proposals / ideas from GFMI regarding painting / stucco for the
needed sides of the clubhouse, window sill repairs, repairing areas with holes in the walls.
Mr. Lawler motioned to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Ascolillo. Motion carried 6 -0, 8:00 PM.
