MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, MARCH 10, 2014

PRESENT: Commissioners Dawe, Dettorre, Mahoney, Nelson, Skerry, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioner DiPaolo, Faulstich, and Forgione
PUBLIC: Craig Schuster, Dave Graham, Wendy Beard, Paul Beaulieu, Richard Chase,
Charlene Chase, Dan Parsons, Tony Bettencourt, Wes Rosen, Tim Clark, Mike
Duval, Bill Eason, Ken Robinson, Tom Lyons, and Tariq Fasheh
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for February 2014 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading
of the minutes from the February meeting. Commissioner White made a motion to
accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report for February 2014 — Commissioner White
presented the financial report for February 2014. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a
motion to accept the financial report, subject to audit. Commissioner Dawe
seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
• Paul Beaulieu and Tim Clark talked about starting a new flight school.
Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee will discuss in May.
• Jacob's Engineering — Dave Graham updated the commission on tree removal
at the end of RW 16. Craig Schuster said work on the West Ramp might begin
on April 15, 2014.
• Mike Duval questioned his rent increase. He may want commission approval to
clean the Administration Building in lieu of a rent increase that is due to occur
on June 1, 2014.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale...
• Talked about a letter he received from the former airport restaurant operator

B. OLD BUSINESS:
1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney talked about
a meeting with Mayor Cahill and about the proposed 95/5 Airport
Terminal /Administration Building. He also passed out building diagrams.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No Report (No complaints received in
February)
• Facility Maintenance — No Report
• Website Management Subcommittee — No Report
• Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collection, West Ramp Reconstruction Project, airport restaurant,
MassDOT- Aviation Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program, Localizer and
fence grounding, snow removal, Building #45 vandalism, death of Commissioner Paul
Barnico, proposed flight school, and MassDOT- Aviation's "On the Hill Day ".
D. NEW BUSINESS:
• Proposed FYI Budget —Commissioner White presented the proposed airport FYI
budget. There was no vote as it is the first pass.
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
• Ken Robinson will host a book signing with author Paul Larkin at Hangar #49 this
summer. Mr. Larkin wrote a history book on Beverly Municipal Airport.
• Dan Parsons gave the commission some old layout diagrams of Building #54.
• Ace Chase said the commission should get ten (10) copies of the new proposed
crash/grid map. Also, the grid map should show all fire hydrants on the airport.

Wes Rosen talked about the problematic MALS. It was decided to keep them on at
night from 8:OOPM — 7:OOAM.
F. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
• Commissioner Dawe spoke to the commission about his update to the airport
equipment inventory.
G. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn regular session made by Commissioner Dettorre, seconded by Commissioner
Nelson. Motion passed unanimously at 8:25PM.
