MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, JULY 8, 2013
LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road,
Beverly, MA, 01915
PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dawe, DiPaolo, Faulstich, Forgione, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioners Dettorre, Mahoney, Nelson, and Skerry
PUBLIC: Craig Schuster, Dave Graham, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Wes Rosen, Joe
Gibbons, Bill Kossowan, Tom Lyons, Bill Sullivan, Gardner Trask, and Bob
DeSantis
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Vice Chairman Mahoney called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for June 2013 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the June meeting. Commissioner White made a motion to accept the
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Faulstich. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report for June 2013 — Commissioner White presented
the financial report for June 2013. Commissioner Barnico made a motion to accept
the financial report, subject to audit. Commissioner Forgione seconded the motion.
Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
• Jacob's Engineering — Craig Schuster updated the commission on the nearly
completed East Ramp /TXY "G" Reconstruction Project and the soon -to -be
submitted West Ramp Reconstruction Design and Construction Project. Dave
Graham said the GPS approach for RW9 "is in the pipeline ". Craig Schuster
also mentioned that MassDOT /Aviation has a no cost security camera program
and will be contacting BVY very soon.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale reported on:
• A complaint from the Town of Danvers regarding the airport's directional
signs on utility poles
• Awards given to Vice Chairman Mahoney, Commissioner Barnico, and
Commissioner White by the City Council
B. OLD BUSINESS:

1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Chairman Vitale gave an update per
Vice Chairman Mahoney's written report.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No Report
• Facility Maintenance — Commissioner Faulstich recommended talking with
Something Different Restaurant owner Linda McCarthy regarding her
continued presence on the airport. He also recommended doing immediate
cosmetic repairs to the Barracks Building.

Web site Management Subcommittee —Commissioner Forgione reported 1,130
hits for June 2013. He also noted he will be adding a new category "Movies"
to the website.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioner DiPaolo said the TSA would
have a booth again at this year's Wings & Wheels event. He also said he would
distribute Wings & Wheels flyers when they become available.
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — Commissioner Barnico reported that the revised City of Beverly
Watershed Ordinance is now in place and that the previous stipulations that
impaired our ability to comply with FAA regulations were removed.
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collection, Contract Control Tower program, East Ramp and TXY "G"
Reconstruction Project, Barracks Building RFP, West Ramp Reconstruction project,
Hangar #49 roof repairs, Commonwealth Aviation LLC Part 135 charter service,
Beverly Homecoming Aviation Day insurance requirements, pending sale of Beverly
Flight Center, and the Statewide Airport Paving Management System.
D. NEW BUSINESS None
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
Wildlife Manager Ace Chase reported killing eight (8) coyotes and one (1) deer on the
airport.

• Charlene Chase reminded those present of the upcoming Airport Cookout on July 14
• North Shore Aero Club — Joe Gibbons told the BAC they like their new tiedown
location at the top of the East Ramp and that they now have three (3) aircraft and sixty
(60) members.
• Bill Kossowan, AOPA Representative, said he will be in Oshkosh, WI in three weeks
and will bring back information. He also gave an update on VLJ's.
• Civil Air Patrol — CAP Colonel Tom Lyons reported on the latest CAP events and that
they have fifty -four (54) members now. He also reported on the status of the Beverly
Homecoming Aviation Day.
• Tower Manager Wes Rosen reported that the traffic count has been steady and that
they have a new controller.
• Ken Robinson, NAA President, reported the roof repair to Hangar #49 is near
completion and June fueling activity was normal.
